Today at school, a friend of mines iPod froze while loading a playlist that had well over a couple hundred songs, and I was wondering if this causes anyting to work extremely hard and build up heat, through out Math class(first of the day 55Min) and to German in the second class it was scorching to the touch and smelled like burnt plastic. My friend got fed up and tossed it in the snow, there was then an audiable POP as what we think the screen or the battery blew out.

Mine has never overheated that much, but on a side note, your friend is a fucking retard. All you have to do in that situation is hold the center button and the menu button down for a little while until the Apple logo pops up. Good as fucking new, and I didn't even have to use the snow to get it there.
