Just a regular mantis that somehow grew to be 15 ft tall. And is pissed as hell too. Though...a jedi knight or master could probably win in a fight against a giant mantis. Example: Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan vs that big monster in the arena.

Does a praying mantis have a hard excoskeleton? If so, a giant one would probably have a harder shell than a alien and, the ability to turn it's head around is one of it's advantages over the doomed predator.
