i never used to, but this year for some reason it feels like i get a cold every other week. i'm sick right now and it's probably the third cold i've had since december. it's probably my diet because all i eat is garbage (no fast food, just nothing substantial because i'm too lazy to cook). what can i do to strengthen my immune system other than cure my AIDS? being sick sucks am i right

My immune system is like the Maginot Line.
Take that however you'd like.

I'm sick right now, and this is probably the second time since Christmas that I have felt ill. This sucks, I just puked 5 minutes ago, and twice last night. Blech.

My immune system is like the Maginot Line.
I had no clue what the Maginot Line was so I looked it up. Your analogy makes no fucking sense to me. Did the Maginot Line fail miserably or work perfectly?
soundtest, if I were you I'd drink plenty of water and take a vitamin supplement.

i don't do serious drugs at all anymore. the last time i touched anything like that was new year's eve, and it was far from what i would consider binging. up until a few months ago i was drinking rather heavily, but i've even reduced that to almost nothing because now i get hangovers (which i NEVER used to get), and this whole "wake up with a headache feeling like garbage" thing changes my whole perspective on drinking because now it doesn't seem worth it. in addition, i've cut back on smoking significantly. i'm not gonna jinx it and say i quit, but i haven't had a cigarette in 4 days now and have no desire for one. perhaps the nicotine withdrawl is a factor? i smoke one to two marijuana cigarettes a night with a cup of green tea to help relieve my insomnia, but other than that i take no medication or drugs (other than caffeine - 1 to 2 cups of coffee a day at work, none on my days off, little to no soft-drinks).
i will try the water and supplement suggestion McClain - thank you. any particular supplement you would recommend (not necessarily name brand, but contents)? i know nothing about this sort of thing.

What kind of job do you have? Do you work with the public (i.e. retail, restaurant, ect)? I found that I used to get a lot of colds when I worked in those types of jobs. If that's the case, washing your hands at work more often might not be such a silly idea.

:) Usually I pretend to be sick so I don't have to go to school, or just have a cold or running nose. Cold and running nose ain't nothing to me.

When I used to be on the pill, my best friend asked my why I took it at night.
"What if you're sick", she said
"Why on earth would I be sick"?
Most bizarre - some people just must be more sick than other.
It takes copious amounts of alcohol with me.

Your immune system is degraded by inadequate nutrition. If you're not eating well you should take vitamin C.

hell take a multi-vitamin while you're at it

I'm really glad to hear you're sick as a dog (not really), and also now 89% drug-free (really). I guess the drugs gave you a super-powerful immune system, but now you're back to being a regular sickly human.

The Maginot Line was a French line of trenches between Germany and France with French guns aimed at Germany, in preparation for the inevitable invasion of France by the Nazis during WWII.
:imock
Unfortunately, the Germans decided to ignore the Maginot Line completely, and just go running through Belgium like they did in the First World War. The French got their asses handed to them because their guns were pointed east, and could not be turned to the west because they were locked in place. Hence, they might as well have had a welcome party for the Germans for all the good their efforts did them. :(
I'm sick too, by the way. :(
