Writer/director Kevin Smith says on his official website that The Passion of the Clerks, the sequel to Clerks, will start shooting in April 2005. "This is the funniest thing I've ever written. It's also really poignant," says Smith. "The only returning characters are Dante, Randal, Jay and Silent Bob." The sequel to the 1994 hit picks up 10 years later. It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s. It's time for Dante and Randal to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex.

I heard that he was going to try and make this one kind of serious I'm not liking that.

Besides, didn't he say that "Jay and Silent Bob" was the last View Askew movie?

Thats going to be difficult to cpature the impact of clerks and make a sequel to it. I dunno, i didnt think the characters, including Jay + SIlent Bob were all that amazing. It was the method of videography, the cheap camera and gritty black and white. It was that Ne w Jersey attitude. It wasnt this MAllrats bullshit and every other failure after clerks. JAy + Silent Bob may be Pop but Clerks will always be cult.
