1998: The year of Zelda: OOT and MGS

Flashback to the year 1998. Two of the best games came out, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Konami's Metal Gear Solid.

Now, for you video gamers out there that were around during that time, which in your personal opinion, was the better of the two and why?

For me, I'd say Metal Gear Solid. Don't get me wrong, Zelda: Ocarina of Time was fun and all, but as far as story and gameplay goes, Metal Gear Solid was pretty much the best.

I hate to, but i must agree with Marine. OoT is by far, hands down, THE greatest game ever made for a console. Grandia 2 comes in a close second. God I love Grandia 2.

It was a game on Dreamcast and later, on PS2. I can;t explain it's story line, which is why I love it, but it's an rpg with real time battles. It was so perfect. Look it up for more info.

Metal Gear.

I think that was the first game that made me give a rats ass about story when i was younger. I remember watching the opening cinematic of snake wswimming into the boat pen and the credits rolling like that. The pacing, the boss fights, the voicing,the music everything about that game was perfect. and how else to end it with a fist fight on top of a burning mech, then a fucking machinegun mounted carchase!
