And it had better be the best fucking show i ever go to because $53 for 3 bands, only two of which i want to see, seems pretty fucking steep >:

Trevor Dunn's trio should bother writing a few songs next time around.

The album isn't the most fantastic on first listen, but the live show is a different kettle of fish. The album subsequently improves after the show.

Just curious, but do you still dislike the first two Fantomas albums Helm? I remember you calling them overrated at one point.

They're not bad, but definately overrated. As with everything Patton does these days. The first Fantomas was an interesting idea, and I enjoy listening to it once a year or something. The second was a lot more accessible, which led to everybody liking them and praising them like they're the best thing since the last best thing. The last album was really good, in my opinion.

and about TC: I don't mind improvisation at all, but I think their take of sticking improvised parts to angry power-cordish metal or whatever it is, is disjointed and immature. Kinda like an idea that sounds good when you first come up with it, but doesn't really work. Obviously, they're very good musicians though, and also they have no problem on getting a record deal so I guess they thought they could make the square peg fit in the triangular hole if they threw money and musicianship at it. Besides, Cranium do this a million times better. And yeah, I'm sure CT are way better live, because in a live setting, improvisation has more of a point.
