I can't wait for their next album. It's going to be ridiculously good.

Damn right, and all of you bastards should be replying to this thread and saying "OMG! THAT IS THE MOSTEST INCREDIBLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! BY CROM I SWEAR I SHALL WORSHIP HIS GUITARMANSHIP FROM THIS DAY FORTH!"

Hmm, it could be defined as "cock rock... but with talent"

Really depends on the band though. I've always thought of it as metal bands who don't want to stay with the same sound from album to album. They're always experimenting and trying out new things, trying to better themselves. Doesn't always work out that way though...

You might like Civial Defiance, the true meaning of "progressive metal".

progressive metal is like, totally metal, but forward-looking. Like, if you take a heavy metal band, and you make all the band members and make them stand really straight and rigid and in red suits with black shirts and red ties, and you make them look at the beer stand for the whole duration of a live show, while they pound THE METAL on homemade instruments. Oh and they have to be german. That's progressive metal, ok?

anyway, I am sure I'll enjoy this new aghora album too. Rog, you might want to check out the two cds by Gordian Knot, written by Sean Malone, who plays most bass parts and programmed the keyboards, the other Sean from Cynic plays drums, and with a host of top-notch guests on guitars and assorted.

Yeah you of all people I would expect to enjoy the new Aghora album Helm. As for Gordian Knot, I already own both of their CDs, great stuff. :picklehat

I just hope the singer's more in tune this time around. Otherwise, I'm sure it's going to be quality.

She's a great vocalist... I think the problem with her vocals on the last album was more that they weren't properly mixed. Too many times the vocals were way louder than everything else when it should've been more balanced. But they're 5 years more mature now so I'm sure that'll show in this next release.

He's also apparently going to release some kind of instructional guitar video or something, so that'll probably be quite interesting to see.

I don't mind the mix at all. I think it was a good mix, in fact. She just wasn't on-note a lot of the time. Whether or not she's a great vocalist is a matter of opinion (I generally like her too. The lyrics suck, tho). Whether or not she was on-note is not.

Yeah the lyrics are horrible... but I can look past 'em since the music is so engaging.

I was more impressed with the other clip you posted. This one sucks. :(
