Despite its cult legend status, that movie is unwatchable. Not only was the whole movie lit with a single oil lamp, but the audio sounds like they tried to record it with a wet mattress. Your neighbor's home videos of thier children's birthdays are probably better produced than this movie.

This is why you couldn't find a picture of it and were forced to post a picture of the much better Evil Dead 2 off the internet.

I decided to skip watching the first Evil Dead.

All you need for your deadite fix is ED2 and AoD.

I completly agree, I dont know what the director was thinking when making AOD but some parts would be more at home in an episode of tom and jerry.

Evil Dead 2 is BY FAR the best one. To skip it would be like eating the potato and the poo and leave the meat alone.

And I don't want to start up that whole remake-or-no debate again, but it's not a remake of Evil Dead. It's a sequel that brings us up to date by quickly retelling the first one within ten minutes at the start. Raimi has always insisted this is the case.
