what shitty new music has haunted you this year?
(most of this shit is from my 7 months working at a western boot warehouse and having to endure my co-workers' radios)
gwen stefani (new least favorite person in the entire world)
team sleep (forced to see these guys live with a friend; worst show of the year)
the body (someone told me these fucks are being billed as "the new noise". dear god.)
r. kelly (no, it's not funny or interesting at all)
the killers (every band that sounds even slightly like this sucks dick)
clap your hands say yeah (flashbacks of everything i hate about indie rockers mingling with post-punkers)
foo fighters (wow, they get worse and worse and worse and...)
gavin degraw (my girlfriend likes this somehow, so i actually have to hear this at home sometimes)
hot hot heat (these guys sucked before and they're sucking again, only harder)

I've had an irrational hatred of her since the second No Doubt album, but I have to admit I loved Holla Back Girl and Whatcha Waitin For (well some remix of it anyway) when I first heard them. Realizing they were Stefani tunes and hearing them 523469 times soured em tho.

i should also add, tho they are certainly not rubbish, coldplay and the white stripes are would be very happy if i didn't hear 'talk' or 'doorbell' today, thank you. >:
what is it about a pop tune that makes you wanna stab your eardrums with sharp pencils after hearing it 5 times a day for a week?
sorry for going so off topic, here: jamie cullum's cover of high and dry is the worst song i've heard all year.

THE CRAZY FUCKING FROG
>: >: >: >: >: >: >: >: >: >: >: >:
Enough said.
added: btw, i saw this kid wearing a crazy frog t-shirt and i almost kicked him in the head then burned his body in the woods but his dad looked pretty mean :(

Why in the hell did they have to put visible genitals to that frog? :(

i hesitate to state that i have no clue what this frog is, because i really probably don't want to know but my curiousity gets the best of me... what the fuck are you talking about? the only "crazy frog" i know of is the one i see on chubby, misguided 11 year olds' silverchair t-shirts that they got when their older brothers moved out and left behind their "embarrassing" clothes.

Avenged Sevenfold
Postal Service

hey shut up about weezer, k?
The new albums pretty much suck ass, but pinkerton and the blue album are both full of perfect popsongs.

The Alanis Morissette acoustic re-release bar none. I don't recall any public outcry for such a thing. Apparently Starbucks has this hear music campaign the entire purpose being to tell retarded soccer moms what to put in their new Ikea cd towers. If you're not into music, stay the fuck out of it. Don't passively chuck money at worthless musicians like coldplay or matchbox 20.
Oh, and the new Dave Matthews Band is a turd. I do my best to avoid retarded teenagers so I don't end up hearing things like crazy frog or whoever the current pop slut is, but there is no escape from DMB. He's in offices, in waiting rooms, on your parents' stereo, on the college station when the shitty freshman dj is on. His universally bland appeal ensures anyone with a modicum of taste is fucked.

no. old weezer sucked just as bad as new weezer does. the only reason people liked weezer back then is because they were something different from the grunge shit that polluted the airwaves.
you know i'm right.

Actually I didnt even know about weezer in the grunge era. I bought the blue album maybe 6 years ago and pinkerton right after that one. I still love both of those albums. So fuck you and your wrong opinions.

If it means anything at all, I could tell Melvin was kidding.
And the worst shit I've heard all year probably is from Gwen. Not because I liked her before or anything, but I at least respected her. Now it's hard.

opinions can too be wrong. they can be dead wrong. >:
i fucking hated the blue album when it first came out. but it grew on me like a hideous unstoppable cancer. i sing along to every song, even Buddy Holly which i especially hated initially.
and postal service is OK. we will become silohettes was in heavy rotation while i was painting my new house, and that song will always make me think of fresh paint and new starts (which inevitably lead to horrible disaster, but hey that's what makes life interesting, right?)
let's see, can't stand weezer's beverly hills. makes me change the station. so does NIN's hand that feeds. and tho i <3 the new gorillaz album i wish the local station was aware that there are at least 5 other good tracks besides feelgood, inc.

have you ever had a talent show or open mike night at your highschool? if you have, you've probably heard several crappy bands play really awkward covers of songs and they sing the lyrics like they dont really know what the words mean and they do an original song that sounds pretty much like the cover, except they change around some of the notes and the lyrics are usually notebook poems that they wrote in biology when they're bored. to me, that is what weezer sounds like.

Ok kids, let's stop thrashing weezer and concentrate on something much more offensive to eardrums everywhere. Please tell me you all aren't more pissed about the weezer single than you are about R. Kelly! "Then she says Roxanne's a friend of mine - who knows this guy named Chuck - Chuck's cool with this guy named Rufus - And I'm sittin' there like what the fuck" ACTUAL LYRICS! He echos the word 'rubber'! It's *5 Parts Long*! I am appalled. Please tell me I'm not alone.

i haven't heard it. i never ever ever EVER listen to the "urban contemporary" stations, so i never have to endure bland top40 (c)rap to hear the occasional decent hiphop tune.

the only radio i listen to anymore is talk radio.
This is the same answer I was going to use. However, I find myself surfing through the stations during commercials and instantly get aggravated with anything that's on.
The only saving grace on our radio stations would be when you get to the "new rock" station and they play Alice in Chains or something out of nowhere.
If only talk radio commercials weren't like 10 minutes long.

Down here we don't get Howard Stern (unless you have cable and are home, watching E!, and honestly... what's worth watching on E!?)
The best we have in the southern Texas/Louisiana area is this show called Walton and Johnson, but I must admit it's pretty good.
Rongi
Jul 22nd, 2005, 06:43 PM
honestly, sometimes stern can be pretty damn funny when he berates his personell or guest(s). other times he resorts to lame bathroom humor.
i wish we had opie and anthony

I would have to agree with the Weezer hating. They're just fucking annoying, maybe one of the most annoying bands of all time... which is quite an achievment.
Pretty much any new mainstream hiphop out today also makes me puke. greenday needs to shut the fuck up too.
I've given up on radio. Only station I listen to is the oldies station when im at work. I don't get stern or any othe talk radio besides the right wing crap.
