I know this is more of a "general blabber" type of topic, but I rarely ever read that anymore, and I don't really care what the 14 yr. old anime fans who may post on it are doing. Besides, most of the "Old Skoolers" tend to at least glance at this board.
My deal-- living in DC, going to graduate school, working for a non-profit. I dig DC.
What's the deal with the rest of you? Any big moves, career changes, life changes?

Acting in a couple of independent flicks, slowly writing music, trying to figure out how to get the hell out of having a regular day job.

Museum of Science, Writing for National Lampoon, Artwork for an unamed very filthy well paying periodical (Which ironically, Vinth will probably be the only one of you to ever red) and selling my art at a gallery in Salem.
Vince was bing metaphorical. He meant his 'job' is something he thinks is shameful and it has no benefits. Oh, and he was also telling you he is very, very stupid and predictable, but he didn't mean to be telling you those parts.

I was supposed to go back to school to get my degree in EMT-Paramedic this year through the Acadian Ambulance/South Louisiana Community College system (which more or less would've guaranteed me a job anywhere in the country) but I found that the financial aid I'd applied to didn't come through.
Currently I am without job but since the hurricane has come through I've been spending a few hours a day volunteering in the shelter.

Well, my headhunter started me on a contract with the City about a month ago......and then tells me last week that the contract with his firm probably will not get renewed at the end of the year. Meaning I may be staring down the barrel of a slow, painful career death.
And to think, I was looking to find a nicer apartment, come January, I may lose my current shoebox. WHOOPDEEGODDAMNEDDOO
I've known the female touch maybe twice in the last year(no, I didn't have to pay cash for it).
My car is going to die any day now.
I've haven't read anything other than tech manuals and certifaction guides all summer, sending my social skills in a downward spiral that would make Howard Hughes queasy.
On the birhgtside, my diet is working and I lost 15 lbs in about month and should be down to 190 by the end of the month.
I guess that evens everything out.

Well, I use a couple, but this is the only guy who has found me long term work. Problem is, no one is hiring on a permanent basis. Everything ranges from a week to about 6 months.I'm sorry about all the other shit.
There are rumors though. The City has outright hired the Level III techs and the supervisors instead of contracting them. This means they are making almost twice what they were and have the municipal benefits package (which totally kicks ass).
Us lower totem pole dwellers are hoping for the same deal. It actually makes economic sense for the City to do so.

i was thinking "gilligan's island."
i got married july 27th to the most chivalrous man alive, who loves my two sons -- now twelve and thirteen months -- like they were his own -- which they are. :)
i'm on speaking terms with my parents, and neither of my two (edited to prevent unnecessary villification) exes have wished me dead lately (to me, at least).
i'm teaching english and journalism and advising the newspaper at the local high school. i have my own room again! and it has windows! and i have my own phone! and a key to the building!
and i've been recording another of my songs at a friend's studio; i'm due to record the final lead vocal this week, with harmonies to follow.

I had another psychotropic episode, and as such have been place on a two-year leave of absence from the University of Chicago.
I'm spending the present at Indiana University Bloomington, wherein I study physics and religious studies.
No copulation for a long time.
