I'll be willing to bet that most of you who follow gaming news know who Jack Thompson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_%28attorney%29) is. For those of you who don't, suffice it to say that he is a withered, ambulance-chasing shell of a man who likes to whine about violence in video games.
I'm also willing to bet that most of you who follow gaming news know about the Hot Coffee controversy, where ol' Jackie managed to get Rockstar Games' GTA: San Andreas's rating bumped up to Adults Only because of a sex scene that is not accessible unless you modify the game's code. In fact, Dr. Boogie wrote an excellent article about it, in case you missed it (http://www.i-mockery.com/visionary/vg-censorship.php).
Now, some of you might think Rockstar might sit back and try their damnedest not to piss him off. Well, you thought wrong.
Rockstar has launched a website promoting the PSP game GTA: Liberty City Stories (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60924) which features a spoof email from "JT@CitizensUnitedNegatingTechnology". You can view the actual site here (http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/).
The name of the "organization" is Citizens United Negating Technology for Life and People's Safety. Take a good look at that name.
I think this whole thing is hilarious, really. It's about time someone did something like this, because obviously attacking him with intelligence (http://www.vgcats.com/jack.php) and (http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/?t=news&date=2005-08-08) wit (http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=58767&id=253845&boardid=1&view=threads) doesn't (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/02/24/tech/gamecore/main676446.shtml) work (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/22/news_6129609.html) against this man.
