She was kinda hot in a necrophiliac type way.
Nightmare Before Christmas was still better though.
And Danny Elfman dropped the freaking ball with the musical score. Only one good song... but then, he "produced" the music, with almost no hand in the creating of it.

I was a little disappointed, mainly because of 1. the songs, of which there were like 3 and only one was good (the one danny elfman sang) 2. the ending, are you serious that felt kind of rushed... which brings me to 3. an hour long??? come on 80-90 mins is acceptable but an hour?
p.s. i would have went with the dead chick

Definitely not Nightmare, felt quite rushed, not happy with the abrupt ending, music not up to par, but I still liked it. Probably see it again. Above average, not excellent.

It's not utterly retarded, so unlikely.

Saw it today. They had the speakers on too loud so you couldn't even understand the lyrics most of the time, kind of like with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was really pretty, but I have to agree that it was too short.
Feels kind of bad to compare it to Nightmare Before Christmas, which is just at a higher level of awesome.

I agree with what you said about the movie, although I'm not entirely sure it's possible to steal a post. It's not like a purse you can snatch from an old lady after you throw her to the pavement and kick her a dozen times.

Had to go buy Nightmare before Christmas just to compare.
The stop-motion animation of the Corpse Bride is lightyears ahead of Nightmare, and the Corpse Bride is visually stunning. It has a good story, and I did like the jokes within.
Yet, if given the choice, I would rather watch Nightmare.

But in his case, it's not like that's a bad idea.

Corpse Bride was really good, but I thought it was kinda short. I guess that making a stop-motion movie takes about 100x the work when compared to making a movie with people, though.
I still don't understand the ending. Does Emily ascend to Heaven, or go back to the Land of the Dead? Yeah, those are spoilers. Fuck you.

Since you already spoiled it, Chimp, I don't know what happens to her at the end, but I think she got the shaft. She falls in love, gets killed, falls in love again, convinces the guy to commit suicide to marry her, then ends up letting him go and turns into a swarm of butterflies? ALL SHE WANTED WAS TO BE LOVED!

My girlfriend's convinced that she passed on to Heaven. Although it seemed to me that there was no mention of any Other World other than the Underworld. And it didn't seem to me like the dead people in the Underworld were too concerned with getting to Heaven or wherever.

I think that the in the end since Victor did love her (?) was enough to send her to wherever it is she went... although I did think that ending was rather on the queer side compared to the rest of the theme of the movie

Just another fucking think Hot Topic can sell to misunderstood douchebags. The Nightmare Before Christmas was good to until it showed up on messenger bags and hoodies all over the damn place.
Why ruin a good movie with something that looks so...redundant?

and why ruin a good board with a little anti-social fagshit like you?
Oh waaaa waaaaa, I was in the Hot topic scene before Hot Topic had a scene! They copied me!
Anyway, I think the Underworld in the Corpse Bride is more of a... land of the unfinished buissness. She said she got her wish.

Lol...I wasn't a Hot Topic scenester, it just bothers me that Nightmare came out when I was in like..the 5th grade and somehow about 2 years ago they started marketing stuff for it.
It's lame in the same way that making sequels of the Land Before Time 10 years after the original movie came out is lame.
And anyway, didn't they reuse they scores from Nightmare in Corpse Bride? Cuz if they did, that's even more reason for me to be disgusted with the whole situation.
DamnthatDavid

No, they didn't re-use the scores. >:
I like Hot Topic as a store. But I despise the people who purchase the stuff there only cause it is "in". If you can name off the top of your head 5 original Autobots/Decepticons then go ahead and purchase a transformer shirt. If you know the secret warp in the first Mario Brothers, get some nintendo gear. If you know who Cobra Commander is, go for the Joe!
I just hate people who buy the stuff cause Hot Topic says it is cool to wear retro that they have no idea about.
