weak genes

both of my sons look exactly like their fathers. :( i wondered aloud at this the other night, and kevin said i must have weak genes. i was thinking maybe it's my just desserts.

it's not as much that i'd want either of them to look like me; it's more that i'd rather not have to see their fathers so vividly when i look at them. maybe then i could fool myself, forget.

it doesn't make me love them any less; it reminds me of what a fool i've been, which leads me to realize that if i hadn't been such a fool, i wouldn't have my sons. and that just wouldn't do. <3

my twelve-year-old resembles me in his eyes, definitely. and my fifteen-month-old has similar expressions.

when i was growing up, i would've preferred to look like neither of my parents. as it was, however, i heard "you look just like your mom" again and again and again. i still look much like her, actually. just a few years ago, someone came up to me in walmart one day and said "you must be nancye's daughter." weird. now, i'm able to smile and say thanks. but i'm still rolling my eyes inside.

awww cute but you dont have weak genes, what the father has are predominant genes. dont worry like dole says they will change, there was this cousin of mine who was blond and then her hair tutned black and curly with time. so dont worry.

It took me a while to figure out that the wee one's shirt says "Virginia' instead of just "Virgin". But I think it'd be hilarious to make a kid wear a shirt that said that.
