Al Franken to possibly run for Senate

I think it was on the Daily Show that Al Franken said he may run for Senate. I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. Anybody know anything about this?

I don't think he's joking. That doesn't mean he will, but I don't think he meant it as a joke that he's concidering it. It would be interesting. I'd like to think that he could do it and not sell his soul. That alone would be worth finding out.

He has a LOT of skeletons and the closet door is open. His extensive use of a wide range of drugs in the seventies is well documented.

I think it would be good for him to run just to show that someone who's intelligent and has a good sense of humor can run as who they truly are. I think people running and not becomeing focus group robots repeating canned messages over and over would be a very good thing. On the other hand if he did become that, it would break my heart.
