He really is a competent director, but his scripts are some of the worst you will ever see put into a movie.

Why don't they just take the script from a good movie and adjust it so that it has people from the video games? However awful it may turn out, it would be way better than something 'original'. They can use the script for Raiders of the Lost Ark for Castlevania.
