This falls into the etc. category of the board... Here's my question: Do any of you care about or watch hockey? I know there are some NHL teams and minor league teams in the southern states, but does any one care?

I have a hard time getting into hockey at this point in the year. Football is on, and the NBA is getting started.

But I follow the Rangers. :(

Some people care in Dallas. It's a niche though. You got your Stars fans. And the radio stations report their scores on the radio only AFTER they report any Cowboys or Mavericks scores (our NFL and NBA teams if you don't follow).

Yeah, my brief time in Texas was surprising regarding the Stars. Some folks are really in to them.

I care for hockey but never watch it or anything like that. I used to play roller-hockey and that NHL game that was put out? "EA Sports. It's in the game!"

Not really...

We even had our own regional team and attendence was sparse enough that not only the team but the owners of the dome are almost out of business.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville has a hockey team, a really good one. They've won several national championships....they used to draw a pretty good sized following, but that was several years ago.
Huntsville also had a semi-pro team for a while too....and I know several people who follow Nashvilles Hockey team, but they're transplanted Notherners....except for my friends Joanne and Steve, and they're Canadian. Right now in Alabama, it's all about college football.
