I'm filling out my application for Subway, and I can't help but feel the questions are kind of ridiculous.

A customer complains that he was short changed by you recieving only 13 cents change from $2.00 instead of 31 cents. What would you do?
-Give him the 18 cents, cry, and beg him not to tell the manager.
-Call security.
-I don't make mistakes.

What do you consider to be the most important qualifications of a Subway employee?
-Being able to assemble or repair a sandwhich
-No headlice
-A shit-eating grin
-Able to hold breath for one minute in the mayonaisse vat

The other two questions, SO YOU CAN SUFFER.

What do you consider more important as far as a restaurant is concerned - courteous, prompt service or a quality product?

You are working alone and your shift is due to be over at 6 P.M. The individual who is scheduled to begin working at 6 P.M. does not show up. What do you do?

My dad's a manager at Bojangle's :( . I'll have to ask him if there's anything that retarded on their applications.

It's like that at Bo's, too, but the fat soccer moms obviously aren't making an attempt to diet.

if Subway isn't going to pay you six figures, I see no reason to answer their stupid questions.

By the way, if your relief doesn;t show up at his alloted time, you call your manager and tell him to get his lazy ass back up to the store. If he isn't there in 20 minutes, take all of the money out of the till and set the store on fire. .... :)

Those questions aren't so much to see what kind of answer you can give, but whether or not you can give some sort of intelligent response. They're not really looking to hire drop-outs and retards (but that's usually all they get anyways).

They must have these questions for all sorts of food-related jobs. I got the exact same questions for Cold Stone Creamery...thing is, my best friend managed the place, so I was sure to get a job anyway, so most of my answers involved me sticking my foot in the ice cream.

A full set of teeth by the employees goes a long way in helping me to maintain my appetite.

I worked there for a few months before devloping cronic backpain from standing around all day. The customers aren't so bad, it's the asshole owners.

That question is to cover the owners' asses in case it turns out that you're an illegal immigrant.

When i went for a job interview At subway in my city. I was denied the job because i am overweight. I just weigh 220 pounds, and that isnt bad for somebody whose 5'9 is it. In the end the job went to some Idiot who couldnt understand the concept of giving back the person's change. I may not portray the image that subway wants to project for its sandwich chain, but at least I am able to do the job.

And a Little side note, I now work at the Dairy Queen Down the street from the Subway I was Denied the job from. And I recieved the Employee of the month Award two times in a Row.

At both Vons and Magic Mountain, I got asked by the interviewer: "So, uh, why do you want to work here, anyway?"

That kinda set the tone for the rest of the time that I worked at those places...

at the subway by my house im pretty sure one of the requirements is to not speak english and make sure you have serious trouble understanding it

i have no problem with people who dont speak english but i dont think they should be taking orders which require understanding it

it takes them like 5 minutes to figure out which bread im talking about and another 5 for me to explain what "just meat and cheese means"

I would think that's very illegal, but small franchise owners can get away with shit.

I don't know how ambercrombie and fitch gets away with only hiring beautiful people

Maybe only beautiful people apply for the job?

Then again, I haven't actually eaten at Subway in like... five years. I guess you don't have to buy the wares to want to work in the place.

Sorry to revive a... uh.. slightly dated topic, but my mom told me that I'm supposed to call them about an interview, and that fast food joints don't actually look at applications so much as they let them rot in the corner and go "Gee I wish we had more employees man."

IS THIS TRUE??!?!

I'm not sure why I find the above images humorous :(
