I need suggestion for Gamecube games apropriate for a ten year old that I can find cheap and or possibly used. I am thinking along the lines of older games I'm not to terribally interested in new stuff.
I'm asking because I just got a GC for my bro' and at this time have no idea what games to get for him.[/b]

If you can't find a game for a little kid on the Gamecube, you're not looking hard enough.
Mario Kart Double Dash - $30
Super Smash Bros Melee - $30
Animal Crossing - $20
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - $20
Super Mario Sunshine - $20
If you bought him a GC, I imagine you bought one of the ones that come with a free game, right? Best Buy also had some that come with two games, and not shitty ones either.

I wish I could somehow defend the system against the stereotypical view that all gamecube games are kiddie games, but then again I bought an xbox.

Arrow, I fail to see how a Metal Gear Solid game is in any way good for a ten year old. I doubt the whole "kill only when it's really necessary" thing has really developed in his head, yet. And I somehow don't think he'll get the story, given it's about nuclear warefare, cloning, and contains a lot of sociological appraoches to the study of war. Good day.

what!? I palayed Metal gear when I was 10 and I loved it! You have to be a handi to not like the game. granted at 10 I wasnt very good at it but I played it for hours.

Arrow, you don't know the kid Guil's buying games for. I do. He threw a tantrum a few days ago because he entered a puzzle room in Pokemon Ruby and couldn't figure out how to reach the other side. Guil told me Little Dumbass, as he shall now be known, stamped into his (Guil's) room, and demanded that he figure out what to do. Trust me when I say that this particular kid will not be able to sneak through the first room in MGS and get to the elevator, much less kill Psycho Mantis.

Ok.
Then that rules out Super Mario Sunshine, and Wind Waker.
get him a pile of cardboard boxes, and tinfoil! I'll be goddamned if that doesn't entertain a kid at 10 years of age >:

Well Rosenstern you beat me to it. I was actually going to say exactly that, my sibling is a dumbass I often find that almost every thing said has to be explained to him.
he also has anger issues and I expect the gamecube may shatter if he is challenged to much by a game.
Also as a side note he is relatively shit at games in general, his idea of a video game is pokemon.
pokemon by the way is the devil but at least his penis is safe with it.
he has little understanding of all the great games that are out there in the world, and my intentions with this gamecube were to show him that there are way better things than pokemon and harry potter games.

Is that what the ball's for? I always thought it was a way to get him away from you for a while, or make him run through fire or something.
Watching that little fucker run around on fire in the Darkice Mines was friggen hilarious :lol

Yes. While there was no actual tri-top on tri-top male love on camera, I heard that once filming was done, he was all over Slippy's throbbing frog phallus.
