Has potential, but I don't know about this new director.

It sucks that Nightcrawler won't be in it though. I wonder how they'll explain his absence.

February or March, to combat Superman.

In other words, rushed out the fucking door to spite Bryan Singer.

I really like what they did with Kelsey Grammar. Best choice for Beast, IMO.

That being said, I, too, am wary about this new director. But I am glad they are releasing it to combat Superman, because that movie looks like shit, and there needs to be something to shut it down.

Yeah, aside from red dragon, I honestly can't stand any of brett ratner's movies so I'm really not happy that he's directing it but the trailer does make it look good. Still didn't get me as excited as it did for x2 though :O

Oh, and juggernaut looks like shit. Way to fuck up another awesome comic book character, hollywood >:

They just need to not look like shit. Mystique looks fairly different from her comic book form, what with being naked and scaly, but it works and there are no complaints.

Come on, can you honestly tell me Juggernaut looks good in this movie? If you can, you will also tell me this movie will be the greatest film ever, at which point your opinions no longer matter.

He looks like Shao Khan and Super Shredder ran into each other really, really fast.

Dec 6th, 2005, 05:04 PM
Seriously though, how would you pull off Juggernaut? I'd rather have him look like he does than a CGI piece of shit. Also I'm not too worried about the new director, I mean this movie has been set up so good that it can't turn out bad.

P.S. I'm fuckin stoked!

Protoclown
Dec 6th, 2005, 05:30 PM
I've gotta agree that Juggernaut looks like shit, but I also don't know how else they could have done him. If he appeared in the film as he does in the comic it would have been laughable.

Blow me. James said it well but I'll say it again; it just needs to not look fucking terrible. Yeah it'd be hard to pull off but a fake suit of muscles on a 6'1 actor is pathetic. THE GUY WHO PLAYED SABRETOOTH IS TALLER! Fuck, I think even hugh jackman's taller than that. Yeah, some cgi looks like shit, but some of it looks damn good too. I'm not saying that's the only way they could pull off juggernaut, but if they can't make one that looks anything like him I'd prefer they just not even try >:

Ultimate version looks fine to me. Better than the gay gladiator (glaydiator?) they have in X3.

Would it really be that hard to use Forced Perspective and a little greenscreen to make Juggernaut look at least a bit bigger? I don't need him to look horrible ripped like Bane in Batman & Robin, but it'd be nice if he didn't look like Magneto's ass slut.

One thing I will say about Juggernaut looking like shit:

Remember when the first movie came out and you saw the trailers and you were like "who the fuck is this no-name guy playing Wolverine? That's bullshit!" and don't say you didn't because I know you did because everyone did and if you say you didn't you're a fucking liar, but when you first saw him in that cage fight in the movie you were like "I'll be damned, maybe, just maybe this'll work!" and then he turned out to be the best he was at being the best Wolverine that being the best there is at what he does.

Yeah, Juggernaut looks like shit in the trailer but we might be surprised in the actual movie. That's all I'm saying.

James
Dec 8th, 2005, 12:59 AM
What the hell are you talking about?

This is the first I've heard of any Hugh Jackman hate.

Protoclown
Dec 8th, 2005, 01:20 AM
Yes, I'm sure you were a big fan back when ol' Hugh was doing all those gay musicals, but most of us had no idea who the fuck he was back then. All we knew was that Wolverine was supposed to be Glenn Danzig, and he wasn't.

Ninjavenom
Dec 8th, 2005, 02:20 AM
Well, if it's any condolence, Danzig is a total pussy and would have ruined the role.

Protoclown
Dec 8th, 2005, 08:14 AM
Yes, this is true. And Jackman was perfect for the role, there's no denying it, but he was a total unknown before that movie.

AChimp
Dec 8th, 2005, 09:17 AM
What really did it for me and Jackman was his role in Kate & Leopold. :love

James
Dec 8th, 2005, 04:13 PM
So Jackman being an unknown resulted in nerd rage? That's pretty stupid, though I guess I can see how those who are gay for Wolvie would have their concerns over his handling. But seriously, this is the first I've heard of this. First time I saw Jackman as Wolverine, I thought "That's fucking Wolverine."

And Glenn Danzig? The only time I heard of him as Wolverine was in Wizard Magazine's fantasy casting AT LEAST half a decade before any plans for an actual movie came about. But they nailed it on the head with Patrick Stewart and Alan Cumming.

Angel was Angel, because his mutant powers were he grew wings and flew. He became Archangel when Apocalypse transformed him into his servant (one of the four horsemen, hence the new name).

Also, it was just pointed out to me that the script is being done by the same guy that worked on Catwoman, Elektra, and Charlie's Angels 2. And all this time, we've been worried about Ratner. :(

James

what? Just because the writer is crappy and they changes Juggernaut?

Movie is directed by someone who may or may not hate the X-Men series.

Movie was rushed to release in order to combat Superman, directed by forcer X-Men director.

Movie written by guy who did writing for Elektra, Catwoman, Charlie's Angels 2.

Juggernaut is a gay gladiator.

Believe me, I want this to be good, but I have my reservations. Also, the trailer just had that Charlie's Angels/Matrix feel to it, in that there's a whole lot of flash and super-sleek moments just for the sake of being flashy. Like catching the sunglasses in mid-air, or huge explosions. The first 2 X-Men films had their share of flash, but the trailer shows nothing but, which leaves me worrying about what kind of substance we have.

Not to mention the script review I read a few months ago about how the story goes.

I think juggernaut looks pretty lame, but I'll give it a chance.

I think what pisses me off more is how you know they will pit juggernaut against colossus and because colossus is a good guy he will win. I know thats how movies go, but if I see that I am walking out. We all know juggernaut can, and probably would if he ever had to, wipe his ass with colossus, then flush him down the really large toilet that juggernaut probably has to use.

Also, for the record Glenn Danzig kicks ass, and so do the Misfits. I meen, he is like 50 years old now...so yea he is a shadow of his former self, but he sang Astro Zombies for crying out loud.

juggernaut and colossus are both class 100s, neither of them have a KNOWN limit to their strength, and both are nearly impervious to any form of physical damage. juggernaut's fortitude has been well tested though, as he has fought Thor, the Silver Surfer, and the like. however, cytorrak has taken juggernaut's power, so he is growing ever weaker!

either way, the hulk would win over all of them!

you're an idiot. the hulk cannot be matched in strength as it is directly tied to his anger. the juggernaut has physical limits, now more than ever, but the hulk does not. the angrier he gets, the more powerful he becomes. he can potentially become more powerful than people like thor or the silver surfer. his strength cannot be matched.
