The letter was quite good. I liked how Santa started off as kind of sane, but just sort of spiraled down into the crazy old hobo at the corner. My only complaint is that the by-line should have read "By Santa Claus", so it could be shown to gullible children to break their hearts. Of course, if they're gullible enough, I can just tell them that Max Burbank is Santa Claus' spokeman or something.

i love reading your work out loud, max. you're a master of verbal flow and vivid details. kevin was like, "who wrote that?! it was fucking awesome." and it is.

Thanks, Sadie. And yeah, the way a piece sounds is really important to me. My backgroud is the Thee-ya-tah, don't you know. Really seedy small theaters in bad parts of town where if you want to see the whole show you need a bag of quaters, but thee-ya-tah nonetheless.

I agree that Max's pieces sound great, but his run on sentences are hard to get out in a single breath.

Yeah, cause if you don't, you end up with a kid. Didn't I learn that the hard way. I couldn't get my diaphraghm to work at all.
