A few weeks ago I went to my local (and ridiculously expensive >: ) used bookstore and found an original, first-edition copy of Bachman's "Thinner" in hardback. Supposedly original copies of Bachman's books are worth a lot of money (except The Regulators, since that was printed later.)
Any of you collectors out there, how much do you think this book is worth?
Edit: Also, the book is in good condition. The jacket's torn a little bit in some places, but the rips are at most a quarter of an inch long and few and far in between. All of the pages are attatched and the book itself is in near perfect condition.

It can't be worth that much since dumbfucks are selling it on Amazon for 1 cent, but Thinner is an awesome book and I suggest you read it instead of sell it you bourgeois ninny >:
For the record, though, I'm pretty sure my dad has all of the Bachman books in hardcover since he's a huge Stephen King fan and all, so if it turns out they are worth a lot then I'll soon be living easy :picklehat
EDIT: Wikipedia says that the original paperbacks are the collectables, so you're out of luck. :(

Yeah, but Thinner was printed as a hardback before it was a paperback. So I think the hardback would be worth more.
Also I am going to read it cuz Stephen King kicks ass. :>

I don't know if you have any antique book stores, but the one I go to has a constantly updated list of novels and their value posted everywhere. Bachman books are good.

List of first edition books by bachman with prices. Dunno if they are "Accurate" but it should give you an idea. I just typed in, "Bachman" "First edition" "Thinner" into a search engine. Don't read the hardback copy if you're going to sell it. Read a paperback copy.

try reading "the bachman books". that one has 4 of the books king wrote as richard bachman in 1 volume. 'the long walk' is my favorite from that collection. as for 'thinner', there isnt really enough action in that book, but certain parts of it are pretty creepy, to say the most. still, read "the bachman books" if you want to try bachman and actually enjoy it. happy readings! :)

Do you get chased out of the library often for smelling bad?

I can't comment on the value of the book, but if you are a Stephen King fan, check out The Long Walk. It is (in my opinion), far and away, the best of the Bachman books, and one of King's best overall.

That's the one with the kids racing right?
I thought Rage was decent as well.

Well, I don't know if I'd call it a race, exactly.

The long walk ruled. It's basically about a load of kids who aren't allowed to stop walking. Or else.
