Anybody know of any sites that I can download some of these old games from? Not the very first ones, more like the 3rd - 5th installments of each of the series.

I'm not sure these days cause I haven't looked at abandonware for a while but Vivendi is releasing compilations of Police Quest, King's Quest, Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry pretty soon here. That isn't free though so I'm no help :(

Yeah I'll definitely be buying those, but they're not out until March. I need some of the games now :(

I found a few of my old backups of some games, but would still like some links, especially for Space Quest and Police Quest.

Also, do you know of any way to get screen grabs from those games?

spacequest.net had them all but they got esaOWNED.

they have a hrorible "DONT STELE OUR PICTURES WE PIXELD THEM YES ITS ARE aRTWORK" policy anyway.

This has em. They have a horrible definition of abandonware that's synonymous with oldwarez though. They may get lucaspwned or esapwnd eventually so get it while you can lol

Also Mockery, you may want to use DOSbox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net) to play them at their intended framerate and audio/visual. Thank fred for not having to dig out an old computer to play these or use the shitty SCI win16 binary.

Fucking buying those.

Anyway, I have/had KQ1-4 that played perfectly in emulation. I can see if I can find those, but they're probably either on one of a bajillion discs, or I deleted them. KQ5-7, I couldn't find copies of that worked properly.

But yeah, Sierra seems to be pretty strict on warez and emulation, so their old games are very hard to find on websites. I ended up getting KQ1-4 from the now-dead Suprnova torrents site.

I actually OWN KQ1-7, but my CDs can't install the games on my more recet computers, because of a driver compatability issue. And Sierra doesn't support these games anymore. So I'd need to essentially rebuild a 1995-era system in order to play a game I fucking own. :(

Yeah, DOSBox is pretty sweet for playing old games but I really only use it for Daggerfall for the most part. I made a thread about it a while back.

And for all of the old Lucasarts games (sam n Max, the dig...) look for something called Scumm VM, It kicks ass for all of those.

I will say though that the games from Abandoned Games Room do throw a hissy fit trying to get them to work, not to mention they tend to eat up a lot of harddrive space. Otherwise it's a good place to go in order to play those classic games once more.

http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/details/244302/ this one only has the Roberta Williams games (kings quest), and it's CD images so expect a long download tiem :(

http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/details/248490/ says in the description it's a "russian" compilation, but i can't tell if it's the original english-language ones (because it's a dead torrent :(). does appear to have kq 5 and 6, and claims to have space quest, police quest, leisure suit larry etc. you probably can ask them to reseed it if you want to :(

http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/details/260161/ not sure if you wanted quest for glory but hey here's 1-4

http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/details/165100/ and here's 5.

I do use DOSBox. You know, there's a little saying that goes think before you open your mouth. In this case, before you type.

And if you think calling me a furry is an insult, you need to try harder.
