i am thinking of possibly moving near, or to Richmond.

any of you guys have any suggestions on where i could move to. intraweb is fine for giving an idea of how much places are running down there, but better to ask someone that is there.

looking for 2 to 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, crack free street.

any suggestions?

How about we get a place in Massachusetts together. That way I'm close to Carnivore and you're within stalking distance of Max Burbank.

too far, had a lot of arguments recently about how far i want to go with the kids. and without VERY nasty court proceedings i sort of have to work with my soon to be ex wife a little.

too bad though, i may hate the cold, but i never go out anyhow so MAASS wouln not be objectionable.

Don't do it. It's not worth moving here. Not at all.

However, if you insist on moving to Richmond because you're stupid, you can live in the "city" (I don't even consider it a real city, it's that puny) and get a smaller place, or you can move out to the West End (near Short Pump, etc.) which is getting built up like crazy. Rent is fairly cheap out here and you get a lot of space for your money, but expect a good 20 minute drive or so if you wanna go into the "city" area. You could always move halfway between the city and the West End to get the best of both worlds. Patterson Avenue runs from one end to the other and there's some good apartment complexes on there (or near there).

I strongly urge you NOT to move to Richmond though. Can't stress that enough. :)

CAN IT POSSIBLY BE WORSE THAN WHERE I AM NOW?

you have seen the dump i have been dealing with in MD. anywhere would be better.

but i understand what you're getting at.

sigh. everywhere sucks. I AM GOING TO MOVE TO THE MOON.

Salem Mass is the best God damn place on Earth! Why? Because I live there. And the have a fucking STATUE of ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY, which as God is my witness I intend to get naked and mount if the temperature this summer breaks the century mark. I am going to give myself an Elizabeth Montgomery shaped full body burn.

George. I am sorry to hear things are poorly for your marriage. Seriously. Being close geographically to the chilluns is way more important thatn what city you end up in.

my liking for richmond is more that it is the closest city that is REASONABLY affordable.

would you pay 1600 a month for a three bedrom, 1ba townhouse.

cause that is pretty much all that is here :(

Hey George, some good places to live are in The Fan, which is more in "the city", Patterson Avenue is good (there are lots of houses and apartments along it, and they're pretty cheap), or the West End out towards Short Pump...Roger pretty much mentioned all these.

And yeah, Richmond may not be the most exciting place in the world, but to me, it's home, and I know a lot of really cool people here. And if you moved here, hell, that'd be one more.

Salem was extremely cool when we visited there, you lucky bastard. I really wanna go back sometime, especially during October to see just how crazy things get around there.

Hey, if you come, we could worship the statue with burnt offrings! That would be bound to offend all sorts of different people!

I would break my seclusion for that. I'll start looking for goat farms in the area. I'm sure we can find some in Middleton or something....

I just moved back to Richmond after being away for 6 years (went near VA Beach for college). I gotta say this place is getting better...at least it's better than I remember it. It really depends what kind of stuff you like to do. I'm real into music, play in a serious band, and like going to shows and partying...if you're into that, Richmond is great. It definately has its ups and downs but if you are the kind of person who makes your own fun and has lots of interests - Richmond is pretty cool. I've nevr lived in a "big" city or whatever so I don't know for sure how it compares to life in a huge metropolis area, but I still think Richmond is fairly cool and it is definately an amazing place for underground music and art. The only thing that sucks about Richmond to me is that there is no beach...I quickly realized after moving that I'm a damn beach bum and I am already thinking about moving to a beach in the next year or two just so I can get to the water in less then 2 hours of driving lol...I dunno man, you can always move here and if you don't like it, move away after your lease runs up. Only you can decide if you will like it or not. If I met a cool girl here I could definately see myself hangin around Richmond for quite some time...if not, I'm probly gonna keep movin to new places and having fun.

i love live music, of pretty much any kind, but nothing beats a decent bar that is populated by punk rock types.

Carnivore, watch out for goats!!! we had one named napolean and it was stinky, mean, and sexually aggressive. we had a duck named spartacus (later named spartina when it unexpectedly laid eggs) that the goat raped at least every fifteen minutes (seriously, i may be low balling this a bit). SO BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chojin, sorry i have not called you yet, all i have is a cell that does not work so great in the boonies, be patient, you know i love you :)

for right now i will be living near richmond, so i can enjoy the night life a little, and make a man of Protoclown (again ;) )

if you PM him a number there even if it's not a cell phone where you could be reached, you know he has one so he has free long distance, and you two could talk.
