submitted for the approval of the i-mockery message boards, i call this thread.....
the 'are you afraid of the dark' nostalga thread
i downloaded the first 2 series of this and all the memories come flooding back, mainly of the kids attempting to act scared (mainly standing incredibly still while screaming, i can only assume they were yawning and they dubbed it over)

Wasn't there an episode that had a story actually happen to the group of kids by the campfire?
The only thing i remember about that show is an episode about a werewolf.

I remember one about a swimming pool monster and some brothers talking to aliens. That one might have had a spider web in it, too, but I can't recall.
I watched all these cool shows as a kid and I can't remember any of it :(

Was that the one with the kids stuck in the taxi cab and there is a guy who has a hand in a jar? :(
I remember a bunch of parts to that show.

I remember an episode where this family was vacationing in a house, and the housekeeper was a teenager. He stayed a teenager because he had this weird machine that'd supposedly suck the life force out of people through the mirrors, making him young. I should also happen to mention that the family was african-american and the kid was white. So this probably had to do with race relations in the USA.
That show was so ahead of it's time.

I remember one episode where this one guy was saying "Give me back my ankh" at the campfire over and over again, and it ended up being a conversation piece like "oh it's the egyptian symbol of life blah blah blah"
and then there was another episode with like this leprachaun guy and frogs or something :/

A hole!
The one that always sticks out in my mind as the creepiest is the one with the vampire in the hospital. I also liked the wacky reoccuring Sardough (sp?) character who would always have to correct people when they pronounced it sourdough. Hilarious.

He always said "I'm am not a nutbag", right?
I liked the one with the girl who had the same locker as a girl from the '70s who died in a chem lab mishap. The Renegade Virus also sticks in my mind.
I am conviced that there was an episode with a girl stuck in a mirror and messages like "HELP ME" appeared on the walls backwards, but I can't find this episode description. Was this Are You Afraid of the Dark or am I thinking of something else?

Remember how the stories were cheasy and retarded even for kids? I remember hating this show as a kid, I was just watching it because Ren & Stimpy came on afterwards.

I remember that show, it gave me nightmares . The one episode I remember the most was the one at the swimming Pool with that corpse/ghost thing in there. I swear, that is probably why I cant go in water. I am just scared of getting pulled in.
