this has been bugging me for a long time. There's a guy in my department at school who always smiles and looks at me, but never will say hi or anything. I usually see him walking around or studying by himself but sometimes he's with one of his guy buddies (he never talks to girls). Do you think I have a chance or is he just being a tease? I think your best bet is to write him a cute note with your phone # on it saying you want to hang out some time. Be creative on how you give it to him, like slipping it into his backpack when he isn't looking or putting it on the windshield of his car. Don't give it to him in person, if he is shy he might get kinda freaked out.

Will he know who you are if you put your name on it? If not, then include a picture. Make sure that you look good in the picture, don't just put any old picture in there.

This way you aren't really the initiator because it is up to him to call you. If he looks at you and smiles a lot, then chances are he likes you and will call you. If he doesn't call within a week, then come back for more advice.

Also, make sure you are ready to talk if he calls... It might put him off if he calls you and you just say, "duh......"

Something else too; if two people are attracted to each other, there is going to be an extra level of awareness between them. Perhaps the other party notices you noticing him. There isn't anything wrong with going up and saying hi to him. If he's THAT shy, your going to have to bite the bullet and initiate the contact. That's just all there is to it.
