wonder how versitile it is, can you make intelligent underwater creatures that live in the sea, or are you forced to go on land (there was mention of underwater cities in bubbles tho)

Actually, they are thinking of putting it into handheld. Seriously.
It's some sort of super future technique where it uses less data to create everything.

I sincerely doubt it. I watched a video of the whole hour long presentation from GDCE (http://www.pqhp.com/cmp/gdctv/) and it sounds like the code is very streamlined. The whole point of it all being "procedural" as I understand it is that everything is driven by more efficient coding instead of using better computers.
We'll see though. This video is making the rounds a year after the presentation it was recorded at, so they must be close to release.

These boards used to have a poster called BuffaloTom who went to work for EA. I wonder if he got to work on this project.
This game is gonna be hot.

while its an interesting concept, and i will be checking it out when it comes to PC, i cant help but think this game will get boring and repetitive.

Will Wright, co-founder of Maxis and master of micro-management.
I like my Sim City just fine, although Spore would be awesome if my computer was fast enough.
