SERIOUSLY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUO4hEaf2hY&search=hardcore%20dancer)
Bieng the type of guy who would not be out of place at a Hatebreed gig I can't stand these loosers. I can hold my own in a mosh pit, im not a small bloke, but when some wanker decides to start dancing 'hardcore', punching and kicking nearby people in the face it really fucks me off.
Even the name 'Hardcore dancing' annoys the hell out of me.

i suppose its apt that it's mostly 14 yr olds?
its not so much dancing as it is their subconscious acting out in hilarious ways, as if video games taught them kung-fu. SOMETHING about hardcore makes one want to prance like a fag, and music videos made them want to throw stuff around.
but they can't
because their mom will ground them
:lol

I can't see the videos because I am at school, but are you talking about skanking? I agree that hardcore skanking sucks, because the goal is to hurt people, but skanking to reggae or punk is great. Especially if you get a nice skank circle going, it's fucking great.
Ill watch the videos when I get home and post again if they are doing something other then skanking.

everything about hardcore sucks... it's an undeniable fact.

Okay, the first one shows a good example of how to skank if you want everyone to hate you.
The first video shows people that have been to one show, saw people skanking, thought it was cool, then thought they could replicate it.
Neither of these are a good example of what skanking should be like. I'll try and get a video of a real good circle skank we had going at a show a couple weeks ago and post it.

Funny you mention that, because i was just thinking today about how much ass a good hardcore band can kick.
Karate dancing, however, is some of the dumbest shit on earth. The kids that do it go "i don't care what people think of me" in an effort to defend the fact that they understand nothing of martial arts, and that they have no regard for the large amount of people who wish to kill them for kneeing them in the cock during the previous song.

Where the hell did you guys hear the terms "Hardcore dancing" and "Karate Dancing?"

I belive you are thinking of something different, johnny. If im not mistaken, skanking is more associated ska punk and alike. Hardcore (or hxc) dancing is what people do at 'Hardcore' gigs.

"Hardcore Dancing" is just skanking with twice the violence and intention to harm. The thing is, no is accidenally hurt by a skanker. If you don't want to run the risk, don't go to where the skank pit is. The skankers wont come out at you.

See? That doesn't happen unless I am the pit, if I am off in the corner bopping my head you would never be in a position to do that. And moshes are great about people getting hurt, if you fall, everyone immidiatly goes to pick you up, and if you try and leave they never stop you.

Back in my day, it was plain old fashioned slam dancing - ie, a load of people just going nuts, and not hurting people intentionally or doing any of these lame choreographed sub-martial arts ludicrousness. At some hardcore shows half the audience dont give a fuck which band is playing, they arent even watching the band - all they care about is which one of their knob-end mates is doing the 'sickest mosh'-
I love hardcore and have done for 20 years but will happily admit that at least 70% of the people into it at any one time are absolute fucking wankers. The internet hasn't helped either >:

the internet has definitely ruined a lot of things that used to be much better than they are now.

I disagree, I think that most people are actually enjoying the band and skanking. It's the few that don't understand that is about the music, and then make an ass of everyone in videos like the one MetalMilitia posted.

Dole said 'Back in the day...' which is easily before you were born, so shut up.
Also, I am pretty sure 'skanking' and 'moshing' are two different things. Shut up.

Aye, Skanking and karate dancing are not related. Karate dancing is when some kid will mimic karate moves, jump around, and pretend he/she knows anything about combat in general because they feel that that's what they should do when they hear hardcore (more commonly, metalcore) music. I guess you'd really have to see a video of it to know what exactly i mean, but that shit is fucking ANNOYING. I saw a girl try to do it at a metal show and she was on the floor with a bloody nose when i turned back again to re-confirm how stupid she was. I don't know how she got knocked out, but it suffices to say that she deserved it. It's highly irritating to be watching one of your favorite bands of all time playing your favorite fucking song ever, and then be punched in the back of the head by some fucknugget who likes to fake karate because they've seen other people do it. GOD. It's so fucking unoriginal and stupid that it makes me want to kill >:O

i go to alot of hardcore shows and have being doing so for years and i have to admit that that dancing is some of the stupidest shit i have ever seen ,
and i definitely hate the assholes that make a conscious effort to hit everyone around them and smash into the side of the pit
its one thing to dance in the pit but dont start hitting the people around the sides or just dive into crowds of unsuspecting people they payed to see a band play not you be a fucking asshole
i just tend to sit like one or two people away from the edge of the pit and when those fuckers come jumping into the side or start trying to hit people i just dig my heel into the base of their spine or elbow em in the face and duck ,and since im pretty short they never seem to see me
but yeah windmills , floorpunching , backkicking etc = pretty fucking gay
really go try dancing like that to blue grass or during a slow dance
see how fucking stupid it makes you look
actually i might do that , anyone down to go hardcore dance at some jazz shows ?

I had that happen when I was at a gig my friend Babasa's band was playing (www.myspace.com/kissmykick (http://www.myspace.com/kissmykick)) I promptly turned around and proceded to beat the living hell out of that skinny fuck. "Let's see your hardcore karate save you now, assmaster!"
That was a good day.
