IDENTIFY THIS GAME

The Psychonauts thread made me think of this.

There's some third-person game, and I don't think it's a necessarily SCARY game or anything, but I remember you go into a pool to get an item or something. And you try to get out, I think, and then flames come up and people are moving around the pool or something. I can't remember. I THOUGHT it was the secret room in Psychonauts but I know I'm wrong.

I think they were writhing around the outside of the pool, saying stuff like "HELP US" or something, I don't know.

All I can think of is the bit in Prince Of Persia when you go into a pool that gives you health but it mucks with time or somethind and sand creatures come to kill you.

That's the only thing I can relate it to, maybe a bit more information on the game would help if you can think of anything :/

Lame games aside,it doesn't sound familiar. At all.

No idea about the system or anything. I could SWEAR it was in Psychonauts, though. In the Milkman level...but I don't think it'd be anything that dark.

I might be wrong here but I think there was something else you put into the pool first; to deactivate a bomb or something harmful. And after that was blown up, you can go in and grab the item and when you try to leave, everything goes nuts.

It sounds very Silent Hill-esque. It very well might be that.

The thing is, I don't know why it would be. What reminded me of it was Mila's fire thing. I really think that there was some point in the game like that and I got to it and I remember thinking "Holy crap, I don't think anyone has ever seen this before".

I just wish I could remember what game it was.

sounds like psychonauts, seems to have a few hidden sections like milas, or it could be some horror shock game like f.e.a.r or silent hill or something

the only game with a killer pool i can think of is maniac mansion :P

I know its not from Silent Hill because I just recently played all 4 of them and was about to create a thread about it. The only one with a pool in it is the second one, I know you retreive an item from the pool but there isn't any fire afterwards, all that happens is a bunch of those straight jacket monsters drop in and attack you. Are you completely sure it wasn't Psychonauts?

Can you remember how graphic the game was? Was it from one of the current systems (gamecube, x-box, ps2) or from the last bunch of systems (n64, ps) or was it for the PC?

There's a scene kinda like that in Condemned. You go into this pool and then a wave of crack heads comes at ya while the surroundings go all silent hill.
