View Full Version : My opinions about high school have changed since I left

2004 (Year of my graduation) - I believe that the school doesn't give kids enough days off, even taking summer and winter breaks into account.
Present - Kids have too many days off, because for every day off that means a bunch of retards are going to be running around town. >:
2004 - High schoolers are given far too much work and spend too many hours of the day in school.
Present - High schoolers have the easiest fucking life in the world. >:
2004 - Math is so gay :lol
Present - Fuck, I wish I had passed it. :(

Well, as they say; hind sight is always 20x20.
My views now are practically opposite to what they where when I left compulsary education.

I wonder how my views of Highschool will change?
Presently: I really dislike Creative News Writing and think the school screwed me over by not letting me take Calculus and Honors English at the same time, but in the end, I probably wouldn't have done all that work anyway. I'm worried that once I graduate highschool I won't get into college and end up dead in a gutter because they didn't prepare me for "the real world" at all. Also, I'll probably lose my hands in a freak typing accident and I'll have to give up art, unless I start drawing with my mouth or feet.
ALSO NOBODY LOVES ME WAH WAH WAH
I'll revive this thread when I graduate, so put alot of stuff from today in it and it'll be a sort of time capsule.

I still hate school and education but now it's more because it's a shitty education system than me feeling like I should sleep in late ;(
You know the funny thing, I haven't been in school for four years and I took a placement test for college. Now, I've taken placement for college before, right when I got out of college, and I scored into the highest classes. This time I got shitty scores. How pointless is education if you can forget its entire contents in four years?
Colleges need to have a refresher course ;(

I took a college entrance exam in 8th grade and passed with flying colors, but I couldn't get in because of my shitty grades in 6th and 7th grade.
Hmm, maybe I didn't do too well because I was supposed to be in college? Maybe? [/istotallynotbitter]
That could be another thing I can say I thought about Highschool. "It was better for me to go to a regular high school and learn social skills than to skip it altogether and get done with education early."

Lol you dont learn social skills in high school. I had a teacher when I was going to high school who always partnered me with some idiot with an IQ of 40 or something who kept stealing my stuff, complaining to the teacher got me "you gotta learn people skills!".
I graduated in 2003 and I still think HS was a major waste of time. It was also way too easy.

I find that I have a different view on high school as well now being out of it for 6 years.
I thought it completely sucked at the time, was high all the time, partied constantly, skipped all the time and thought school itself was just unbearable.
When I look back now I realize how wrong I was and that life after school sucks much more. I wish I could go back to the feign responsibilities of high school. :(
When I see high schoolers around town nowadays I just can't believe how stupid most of them are. I was probably the same way but it's weird how you become old so young...

when i think of high school i think of many great experiences with friends, going out all the time, and how fun it was to drive around...that, and constantly trying not to get arrested for all the crazy shit I was into. I was also sent to military school after getting busted for some shit, so that definately will make it to the highlight film.
high school ruled, college was even better, post-college...well we'll see .....that is a long long time lol! ahahah
i don't know why all of you are even remembering classes and saying you thought kids were in class too much back then...i don't even hardly remember classes lol...you people must have been boring!

High school was a complete and utter waste of three years. I hardly learned anything useful. The only thing it was good for was not giving me any homework that took longer than five minutes to complete between classes and still get A+'s in everything.
University is better, but not by much (but if you don't go to university you are teh stupids).

Correction: If you dont get to second year, you are teh stupids. There's a lot of idiots who somehow manage to get into first year.

Well, by "go" I mean "get a degree." If you start and don't even finish, you are retarded.

The only people who don't work hard in school are the ones who haven't pushed themselves.
I tend to have a shitload of homework due to my schedule being entirely comprised of AP courses.

What does that have to do with anything? Do you just have a list to things to share and then locate the closest appropriate threads in which to post them?
I hated high school a LOT and skipped all the time in my senior year. Years later I was having nightmares that I was back in high school and still had 4 more years to go. I still think it sucked the balls, but I wish I had been more social during that time. If I were doing it again I'd get better grades, not because it is important to do so or anything, I'd just have had an easier time and gotten less shit ;<
My high school itself wasn't bad, though. I just value FREEEEEEDOM

My first two years were really bad, I just didn't care. I regret that now. My current GPA is about 3.4 but because of my first two years, cumulative is just a 1.9 or something ridiculous.
I'm going to AACC (local community college, THE BEST IN THE NATION)for two years, then transferring out. Taking a TV/Radio course at Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts, too :O
I won the Best Eyes senior superlative, and was up for Most Changed Since Ninth Grade :=

People want to vote me most outrageous
Years from now I will regret there not being that choice on whatever ballot these people use to find this shit out.

'High School' or its equivalent in my crazy country was shit. No two ways about it. There were fun times aplenty outside of it, but I have never experienced the same kind of tedium and oblivion as sitting through school. And I've worked some fucking dull office jobs too in my time, they dont come close.
I did however return to education in my autumn years, and that was some good learnin.

Mine is different
2003 - High school is hell on earth
Now - man my life is so much better then in high school
2003 - life outside of school is gonna be hard, in the private sector people want results.
Now - Working is SO much easier then schoolwork
2003 - It'll be harder getting girls when i'm out of high school
Now - lousy teenage adultophiles won't stop asking me to prom. DOWN JAILBATE! I like chicks with permanant teeth
2003 - life not living with my parents will be more difficult
Now - Thank God I don't have to listen to my mom anymore, time to jump naked on the furniture while eating sugary foods.
2003 - I better call my mom and tell her i'm gonna be late
Now - I better call my hamster and tell her I'm gonna be late
2003 - I hope my mom doesn't find my pornographic drawings of lois lane
Now - I hope my various female friends don't find my hentai DVDs.
2003 - Damn, i'm grounded
Now - Damn one of my female friends stole my hentai DVDs

You went to High School for a year, good on ya.

High school was really idiotic. The school work itself was always dumbed down to the lowest common denominator, ie, slow enuff for the dumbest kid in class to follow. And everything else was a popularity contest.
I agree with Chojin, if I went back I'd probably do better with the work just to avoid parental/teacher grief.

I slept through all my classes, even if they were APs (which i passed >:). My entire K-12 schooling experience was one big snooze-fest, with my grades being high because I thrived off of half-assing the busywork within 5 minutes of class. As a result, I was unmotivated and lazy. When I got to college, uh, I kinda realized that my high school habits didn't work. I actually had to start doing projects before the day they were due. 1st year was hell trying to break out of being lazy and seeing my near perfect grades go away, but I'm pretty sure I'm not as lazy anymore, and definitely more proactive.

That happened to me K-9 were a fucking joke then POW grade 10 and work work work work. I'm a changed man. Except somewhere across the line I seem to have become pseudo-racist i.e. making racial comments without actually meaning offence.

And still you have time to be an insufferable homo. :/
I got full marks in almost everything in high school and coasted through the whole thing. I'm that awesome.
