This conversation took place in the last 5 minutes of work today, after going over all the stuff that I didn't know how to do yet on their development tools.

Boss: Yea so I'm not going to be in tomorrow and part of next week, I'll be at the Game Developers Conference, but I'll expect Mission 4 and part of 5 done by Monday.

Me: OK, I'm almost done with 4 now, how do you add icons to dialog boxes, blah blah blah...

Boss: (Answers questions) OK well I'm heading out...(leaves, comes back with a huge grin)

Boss: Oh ya, make sure you talk to Katie (receptionist) on Monday, she'll get you your E3 ticket all set up.

Me: *catatonic state*

Me (10 seconds later): Wait...what?

Boss: You know what E3 is?

Me (trembling): Ya...

Boss: Just make sure you talk Katie on Monday, and she'll get you set up. It won't cost you anything.

Me (exploding on the inside, but calm, cool and collected): OK...I'm looking forward it...

Me for the next two hours: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

No that nerd convention is the anime expo (which I've been to :/)
This nerd convention is about video games and is also industry only which means that I'm going to hear tons of terminology I don't understand and the average attendee weight will be about 250 :/

Ya guys I'm a nerd sorry to backstab you all like this but I'm a nerd nerd nerdy nerd who does nerd things like play video games and lightly dabbles in the anime region. And I'm 20 pounds underweight, but I do eat a lot and work out but I don't put on weight so I'm at a nerdy weight which means that I do not fall into the non-nerd region of 130-180. I, however, am hated among my own because I don't type my words with numbers replacing letters and I don't enjoy using the word "owned" or any of its unholy variations.

I know that some of you may feel resentment; I understand. I can only hope that one day our species can understand each other :(

Most people here are. I'm sports based with nerd DNA mixed in. Making me able to go rock climbing, running, sporting, etc, but also giving me the ability to watch a marathon of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm majoring in electrical engineering... my group is pretty nerdy, but if you want to see the biggest nerds in the place you gotta find the Computer Science majors. But you won't because they don't ever come out because the sun burns them. They feed on the warm glow of a computer screen and massive quantities of mountain dew. If you get bit by one, you will turn into one before the next full moon or some shit like that.

I'm a comp sci major as well, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it all.

One guy who has nails that are about a half inch long and it's pretty obvious that he doesn't shower for weeks at a time because his hair is greasy and he just seems so...ugh...

Another guy wears a fanny pack to class all the time. One day he walked in from the back right corner of the lecture hall, STOMPED all the way down to the front row, crossed right in front of the professor, stomped all the way to the back left corner, sat down, and started muttering about how he had to go to an AA meeting for his friend.

A professor in my software engineering class last year asked us to just name a type of gun as an example for something. Almost everyone said "GRAVITY GUN ZOMG" (with ZOMG pronounced as "zoh my gawd"). Since he didn't know what the hell that was, he asked for an explanation, which only worsened the situation.

I also see people logging on to SA during class almost on a daily basis, as well as WOW :(

Then there are those people who are hysterical at every little joke, those who are perpetually congested, and those who speak like they're in a chatroom :(

The only sane ones are the hot Russian women :eek
