band shirt design, need an opinion, [Archive]

is this to emo or to metal or too weird?

It's a post hardcore band and they wanted me to do something dark so I made them a bat skeleton with it's heart still in it's chest, and it's outline. The band (in case you can't read the horrible writing) is Five Stories Falling.

THis is prelimanary i would obviously clean up the lines but this is the basic idea.

I don't like it, to easily mocked on a mockery site. The teenage fans seemed to like it but I'm not sure an adult would wear it (even if i could get it in glow in the dark)

Honestly I like the second one better. I'm imagining it to have the lettering and images raised though. Still, the simplicity seems like it would make it more open to their fans. That's just me though.

I kinda like the idea behind the first one, but I dunno. Maybe it's just that the second one is too plain.

This is really stupid for a shirt probably, but I think it'd be neat if the bat was on a electric wire instead, and he was getting electrocuted and all. It'd be neat, like the old cartoon thing where'd their skeletons would flash white. The wire could be black, with yellow surrounding it. The bat's heart red and all, but the outline be red. I don't know if it would fit your bands persona at all though.

that could be pretty damn sweet, i'll try that. Could make a sweet concert flyer. this is exactly why birds stay on TOP of the wire and you never see bats on it.... or at least not for long.

The light blue kind of threw me off, but I like it better then the original. Once again, that's just my personal preference.

1) get a better band name. five stories falling sounds too much like three doors down which makes me think of Luca from the Second Floor and connects to an utter stream of faggoty rage coursing through my skull

2) don't design your t-shirts in paint

yeah it probably is. the progression of these images is terrifying though... it's like putting on too much icing on a cake and solving that with more pizza sauce... or something.

all you had to do was not use mspaint for that new design, thin up the lines..., i dunno, know what you're doing and have some standards?

i *think* i know what you're going for, and my advice for that kind of thing is look at www.randomsummer.com and see how they do this.
it's free to sign-up and i dont really know why they make you do that as they dont even send you emails when important stuff comes up, but if you look at around page 5 or so you'll see what a little dedication can do to improve things...

well it's not my band so it's not may fault the name seems odd. BUt numbers in names doesn't make or break shit.

Anyway the idea is based off this odd shirt one of my old touring buddies just started selling for their band.

Good luck finding me, i'll give you a hint. Some people in my town marry their cousins, it's red state, and the ozark mountain daredevils are two towns away from me.

As for the bands sucking, i guess this gives this band little to live up to, if all you have to do is outdo five for fighting it's a winning battle for their number. (and btw nine inch nails is on that list and they don't suck...most of the time)
