Beggar Prince is a new and exciting role playing adventure game for use with Sega Genesis, Sega Megadrive and Sega Nomad videogame systems and compatibles which is now available for ordering. To be released in 2006, it will mark the first commercial game release for the Sega Genesis in the United States since 1998.
Genesis was the first console that I owned, and no doubt my favorite. So when I saw this at a certain fourm (which will not be named :rolleyes) I had to tell you guys about it. I'm going to get it, and I hope it's a pretty good game.

Actually, did you know that you can play Sega Genesis games on Nintendo revolution?

I'd be more pumped to see a Super NES game but this is cool.

Makes me even more sad to confess that I sold my Sega Genesis about 8 years ago D: Man what a fool I was :(

Do you have an XBOX? ;)
Man, this makes me want to go into programming shit for the Genesis, and I would, but their development kit is fucking expensive, especially for a decade-old system. :( The graphics and everything look awesome, and with the amount of time they must've had, it looks like it might push the system's limits, or some shit like that.

It's funny how they didn't make a GBA game but the retro love is awesome. I feel like I'm forced to support this team...

This is probably worth noting. As far as "pushing the limits" of the genesis I'm not sure this game does. It's basically just a translation of a game we never saw.

My no is not saying it won't be a rom but my view on the whole thing is stuff like this needs actual support to continue and I'm all for it. You can justify your rom use by saying "I'll never buy it anyway" but certain things deserve a actual purchase. I'm not saying this game will be awesome but I definately like the idea and feel obligated to at least give it a go so as to help support (albeit small) these kinds of efforts for the future.

Ah, I was just implying it'll be a bit of a waste making the carts seeing as dumping the games is pretty easy nowdays. :(
I have 2 Megadrives, but there's no way I'm paying that much for a Megadrive game. xD

I'm not gonna buy this or download the ROM. RPGs smell. Now if it was a shumup like we get for the Dreamcast then I would download the ROM.

What a shitty attitude you have. You're the reason why 2D games are unpopular. And don't gimme that shit about 3D lookin' better. >:
I'm buying two to cancel out you not buying one. :(
Oh wait, fuck that, it's $46 dollars.

I couldn't imagine spending 46 dollars on a 10 year old game, it's just not worth it.

That would be awesome, for old times sake, to see the game released on cartridge, in the case, and everything.

Sniperwulf: Yeah, a brand-new cartridge. Those things are durable as hell, mine still work after 7+ years. :eek The case won't be the standard case though, I think it comes in a custom case for the game. Awesome stuff :)
Hadas: Yeah, I don't know if I want to buy a Sega Genesis game for $46, but if people support them enough they can go on to make more games, and I'd sure as hell would like a new Sega game every once and a while. :( Wishful thinking though.
