It counts until all of your teeth rot out of your head.

I thought the question would be of how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop, but I digress.

Well, that too. But i've never, ever had a tootsie pop in my life :(.

I've had Finnish anise candy. It tasted like someone soaked black licorice in dog sweat.

RaNkeri

don't worry, no one in Finland loves anise candies either. But Salmiakki, man that's great! Have ya ever tried that?

Trash

Anise candies are pretty darn tasty in my opinion. And RaNkeri, salmiakkiviina is the best way to have salmiakki!

RaNkeri
Apr 1st, 2006, 03:48 PM
Well, haven't tried salmiakkiviina(a.k.a Salmiakkiliquor) sofar, but maybe I should, now that I'm 18 D:

The only thing I hate more than Lapplanders is the rest of Finland.

Hey why don't you go make your words a little longer. Your language is too concise and eloquent as it is.

We need a few more threads in Mock Wars. I've never had any of that other type of candy but it doesn't sound very good to me. I could be wrong.

Some candies have lables calling them "FAT FREE FOOD"

You could probably make a meal out of Jelly Bellys, what with all those wacky flavors. I wouldn't recommend it.

Why is it that everyone on this board from finland speaks better english than about 50% of the people who speak it natively

Trash

Because in Finland, there is less stupid people? I once met this idiot fro, Dallas in Ragnarok Online. He was cool, but then he asked "Where r u from"? Well, I answer "Finland" ofcourse, after that there was a freezing silence between us, until he replied "In which state is it located?".

Jesus christ!

Well, it's because Finnish is a non-Indo-European language. Therefore, it's hard (on top of pointless) for other Europeans to learn, making it not quite as economically valuable in the international market as dog vomit. If you know Swedish you can at least understand Norwegian and so forth, but Finnish? Nothing, unless you're really into Hungarian.

So, they learn English so they don't starve to death.

RaNkeri

Actually, the popularity of Finnish has risen slightly in european schools :)

When my sister was visiting Finland, her hosts were ecstatic that from the drive between Helsinki and Nokia they got to experience the recent unveiling of the country's third overpass. I almost wish I were joking.

RaNkeri

Sethomas: :(

I really don't see the reason why lotr would affect to the popularity of Finnish... I mean, most of the people do not even know that Tolkien used Finnish along with other languages to create elvish :/

executioneer

well nerds know that, and nerdiosity is getting way more popular than it used to be
