i've had a leaked copy of this for a while now and it just isn't grabbing me much. i quite liked the last album, but this one only has a handful of songs that are doing it for me.

and that Hear 'n Aid video wasnt? Morrissey, especially with the Smiths, kicks ass.

Finally some happiness on Morrissey Day! I really like the new album. I can't say the same for the B-sides that came with the You Have Killed Me singles though.

your teacher should slap you in the face with a ruler on a daily basis.

It's a good album, but I agree with Mitchell about it not being quite as good as the last one. Still though, a lot of the tracks are growing on me. I love "You Have Killed Me" and "At Last I am Born".

i like how morissey is one of the few excused for being a complete douchebag because he makes decent records.
guy refuses to tour canada because of their economically savaging practice of culling cute creatures periodically, calling them "second to china" and comparing it to the holocaust.
he's a retard and i hate his music, but it's nice how sane people that do like his music overlook how dramatically awful his personal politics are.
not that they should play into it, it's just that it so often does...
anyway

i don't keep up with him that much, and what i do hear of him does seem to be pretty asshole-ish, but it's nice that he's taking the chance to do whatever he wants, unlike most bands who probably have a team of public relations folks they have to ask before they take more than ten steps outside their doors.
