Everything has a purple or reddish tint on this new LCD monitor I got. It's a Samsung SyncMaster 955DF. It seems as though no shades of green are displaying (Pickleman is wearing black :o ), probably fucking over hues and whatnot and therefore causing the problem. I've been messing around with my vid card drivers and the little control panel with the monitor for about an hour to no avail. What am I supposed to do guys

Buy more green.

Looks like a color channel has dropped out or something. Might be a connector in the plug that goes into your PC, might be something internal in the monitor. But I'm no expert.

When I bring up te monitor's built-in controls, I can see the shitty little shade of green there, but none on Websites / windows I have open. Oh man. :(

Oh, OK. Probably not a hardware problem then. Good news.

Yeah, a much smaller CRT. I'm going to put up with this for now. I've talked to some people and it's almost certain the cord is shot. I'm either going to clip it and splice it or replace the whole thing one of these days.

This happened to my monitor.

I smacked the thing.

It works now.

Almost all items like that come with a one year manufacturer's warranty, and they're usually pretty accomodating about manufactured defects.

If the monitor menu is coming up ok then it's definitely a problem in the cord (assuming it isn't the video card). Usually wigging it at the base of the monitor will fix it.

Haha, I didn't even think about the opposite end of the cord. Surely enough, I wiggle it and the green comes in. Probably going to need to use some duct tape to hold the cord the right way, but hey, it works. Thanks, all. :)
