I never really got fully into the original series, and I found the show a bit confusing as to remembering names, being 5 when watching re-runs of Transformers.

It just weirds me out to hear someone talking about Beast Machines bastardizing the Beast Wars of their childhood, considering that I was in college while Beast Wars was on. Now I feel old. :(

I can understand you guys might have felt threatened a little when Beast Wars came along. The difference with the way I talk about it was that I could relate more with the Beast Wars show more, and the stories still hold up today (the animation is a bit out-dated though). Beast Wars was a lot different, in my mind, then Transformers, in terms of most of the characters (I could be off a bit). Then they took these same characters for Beast Machnines and killed a few off and turned into (what I thought were) crappy looking hybrid machines (for christs sake, they took Rat Trap and basically just replaced his legs for wheels). Anyways, although it might have been just that they took these cool bots (I forgot what the term for the heros were in Beast Wars, but it wasn't "Autobot's") and replaced their forms with these crappy versions, and changed the setting, it just turned me off. Anyways, as cheesy as this sounds, I'm just happy that we can agree to disagree.

I've never even seen Beast Machines, and only a handful of Beast Wars episodes. I was just never that interested. To me Transformers turn into things like cars and trucks and guns and tape decks. That's about where it ends for me.

Beast Wars DID destroy The original tranformers >: They fuckin destroyed the Ark and If I'm not Mistaken Megatron stole the "spark" from the original megatron, Likewise Prime did to the original.

I mean in a literal sense, The maximals and predacons had a fucking war inside the ark and destroyed the body of the original Optimus, so the beastwars one tok his spark for safekeeping. Then a few episodes later Megatron Stole the Spark from the original then turned into this crazy Dragon thing.

Oh. All I remember about that part in the show was that optimus had two spark thingies inside of him and got really big. And yellow.

Yeah, but that was after the whole purple ape with hoverboard phase, if I remember correctly :O

That last optimus was infinitely cooler.

Nobody can touch Optimus Prime. Fuck that gorilla bullshit. And Megatron turns into a Walther P38, not a fucking dinosaur or tank or panda bear or whatever shit they eventually turned him into.

In truth they werent actualy the Real Megatron and Optimus. But they should dahe Changed the beastwars name from Optimus to something else, and attached the 'Prime" part to it because thats how the whole Leadership thing works If I 'm correct.

The Megatron from beastwars is just a recreation in the originals image.
