I'm going to pick these sets up because they are official, but the Laserdisc sets are probably better as they have extras IIRC. As far as I know these ones will just have the original movies on one disc and the 2004 updates on another.

I posted a thread back when the Edited Star Wars Trilogy came out on DVD, saying Lucasarts will DO EXACTLY THIS. Trying to find it :(

This thread is for masturbating over the re-release of the trilogy. If you don't like it, I suggest you start a thread or not bother posting on this thread.

I, for one, say "FUCK YEAH" to an uneditted trilogy. My parents had gotten the trilogy pretty much the LAST time that they released it without the special effects shit, (in the mid 90's), and now that I have lost Return of the Jedi, this should be awesome. I like that. I'd love to see them use the original box cover art, as it pisses me off when movies are re-released with new covers nowhere near as cool as the original.

Same... something about Luke with 10 abs and a white lightsaber with leia humping his leg is something that makes me feel very nostalgic.

anyway, i bet it was the plan from the beginning to release the undedited trilogy after the special edition, as if they had the choice most people would get the original versions, but this way many fans buy both
