I had to say goodbye to two of the most awesomest friends I have ever had today. Watching them drive away this afternoon was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I wrote a supergay livejournal post about it, but I just wanted to say here: RoG and Re, this place just won't be the same without you. I love you guys and I'll miss you guys terribly. :(

The vast majority of my friends are either in Richmond, or within a 2 or 3 hour drive. If I moved out to California, Roger and Re would be the only people I'd know.

I know what it's like to see friends moving, Proto, except in my case it's really shitty for both of us. My best friend, Chris, moved to North Bay, in Ontario, a long ways away from New Brunswick, on New Years Day. that was a year ago. The bitch of it was that he told me was moving just two days before he did, and I dont think he was happy either. He definately didnt know that his mom planned on moving until around the same time cause he fucking took it hard. I really do hope, though, that you guys keep your friendship strong. It's impossible to fight change, and as much as facing reality sucks, shit happens and sometimes close friendships weaken. I'm sure that it probably isnt quite as shitty for you, but here's to both of us remaining loyal to close friends.

Proto. Suck it up. The hard truth is that as you get older first you lose the ability to make new friends and then you lose the ability to keep old ones. It's lifes little way of preparing you to die, which each one of us does alone. And as if that isn't bad enough, you'll almost certainly get a scratched cornea sometime before you die, and those hurt bad.

Of course it's quite possible I inherited the whole lack of friends thing from my Dad, who I become more like every day.
