So she has a new book coming out. And she's on Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people. And I'm starting to wonder...
WHY SHOULD I CARE?
As someone with liberal beliefs, the only thing I find vile about her at this point is that her schtick has become played out. Ann's been doing the "Liberals are wrong about everything" (To quote the subject of a recent speech she gave at Cornell) for so long that I don't find what she says repulsive so much as it is ridiculous.
Doesn't anyone (especially those on the left) realize that she thrives on antagonism? The only way a real backlash could happen is if people just started ignoring her.
Maybe I'm just ahead of my time. Maybe most people will begin finding her tired eventually, and within a few years, she'll just be reduced to making an occasional appearance on Bill Maher's show. Just as crackpot preachers like Oral Roberts and Jimmy Swaggart went out with the Reagan Administration, maybe she'll go out with the current Bush administration.
Sorry. I really just had to get this out of my system.
