offering in-house treatment for people who can't leave their joysticks alone

lol :rolleyes

Some show withdrawal symptoms, such as shaking and sweating, when they look at a computer console.

You can't cold turkey this shit!

wilderness excursions, healthy lifestyle workshops

Making fat sweaty nerds tie rope knots, go hiking and eat celery? Tell me when the first suicide happens.

We have kids who don't know how to communicate with people face-to-face because they've spent the last three years talking to somebody in Korea through a computer

Yeah fuckin right, game chatrooms are the problem. Ever heard of AIM? I use game chatrooms to say WTB [Heartseeker] PST and SOMEONE MAKE DOTA... that's about it.

From there, it can progress to multilevel games that aren't made to be won.

Haha, actin like there's some glass ceiling in super mario 3 to destroy children's wills. Next up, black helicopters!

"a safe private laboratory where they can experience different emotions."

That's called in front of my computer, with porn.

By the time he was in college he was gaming about 14 hours a day and using drugs to play longer.

When they play, their brains produce endorphins, giving them a high similar to that experienced by gamblers or drug addicts. Gamers' responses to questions even mirror those of alcoholics and gamblers when asked about use.

Later, he began taking drugs to stay awake and play longer.

I don't even know what to say about the rest of this crap. I know people are looking for something to blame other than their bad parenting, but they're really grasping here.

"Tim, 21, a game addict who only wanted his first name used, poses after therapy..."

This man makes me feel dirty because I play video games.

What the fuck do these people do now that they've severed the one thing they've loved most from them? I bet they go crazy. It wouldn't surprise me at all if one of them commits suicide or some other stupid act. Oh well, they let their "addiction" get out of hand. I don't. I haven't bought a new game in six months. Besides, they sound like idiots. "Using drugs to play longer". Argh.

Haven't you heard about the many gang wars, drive-bys, assassinations, and all-around terrorism that result from X-Box?

It's quite sad that because of you're game addiction, you also become addicted to drugs :D
