I bought the Alpha anthology, but was Totaly Enraged by the fact that its the arcade compilation and no the console compilatioin
To put it simply that means not DeeJay or Fei Long.

Ok, i FINALLY picked this game up (after a Week long fight with the bank, but that would require another thread about Beauracracy and It would wind up like a "Courage" thread) and I have mixed feelings about it.
The Street Fighter 2 on the disc is, in a word, Broken. They decided to make a brand new Street fighter game while they could have just taken all the Old Street Fighter 2 games and Put them on as Seperate games.
Street Fighter 3 is great, I love the graphics and sounds, and I also love the gameplay making it the best street fighter ever.
But the Street Fighter 2 thing is a minor gripe conpared to the one major one I have with the game.
Its the Fucking controller, That damn XBox piece of shit, built for Halo, good for nothing but Halo, spawn of the plastic console devil. The thumbstick feels broken, as many moves dont get performed (attempting a hadoken flings me accross the screen into the crushing arms of my enemy for a quick KO) and the Pad, which should be easier to use giving my familarity with the Genesis Controller, sucks big sweaty man ass. That coupled with horrible Button Layout and you get a Big pile of Horse manure mixed with Cyanide and Hitler's Piss.
Needless to say, i will pick it up again when my Joystick arrives as that controller is now my enemy >:

SF3 is cool. As far as just SF and SFA my favorite tends to still be with SFA3.

Ok, I decided to try the game again and after learning the controls (which I should never have to do for Street Fighter) I finally started sucking a lot less so I am pretty average (i gotta practice my Parrys). So I play and I play until I reach the final Boss, a cheap Multi colored man in a Thong named Gill (why do all the insanely difficult guys in these games wear thongs, like Heihachi) who goes on to Throw me around and beat me over 40 times until I Kicked the wall and split my toe along the nail.
After another 10 times I managed to beat him in one round, and when I beat him in the second round in a row, the game Shouts "RESURECTION" and GIll comes back and Kicks my ass.
After another 5 times, I finally beat him and in I cry in celebration. I now laugh at that boss, until I play the game again and He kicks my ass again.
Anyone else suffer at his hands.

Actually, I can kill him in the First Round, and he comes back in the second round. Then I beat him for good in the Third Round.
It still pisses me off to know that you have to beat him three Rounds in a row in order to win >:
And I ordered the X-Arcade Yesterday, so it should be here by next week :)
edit: i got one of those MSN spaces, which I am now using as A portal for Reviews I decide to write, and the first review I wrote is for this game.
The only reason why I got this stupid thing is because its a whole lot less maitnence than building my own site from scratch :/

you are aware that the xbox controller is really no different from the snes, dreamcast, playstation, playstation 2, and other controllers when it comes to dpad games, right?

wow, have you ever had do play a game wiht the Xbox's dpad chojin?

Yeah, apparently the Xbox design team had a Hard time figuring out that The D pad is susposed to be Digital, not analog (there is a Difference) because using the X box D pad feels like having a miniture Intellivision Disc sitting on your controller with the amount of control you have over it. Thats why Im using the Thumbstick, it actually feels better than the D pad >:
And I am still pissed at HSF2 and the shit They tried to pull on it. I dont care what people think about it, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was a Shitty game back then and its Shitty now.

Yes, My X-Arcade joystick came in today.
The only problem was that it took forever to set up, and I have to learn how to use a Joystick instead of a Thumbstick, D-Pad or Keyboard. But it works great and i suggest you pick one up.
I also had a Pretty sweet game of Samurai Shodown on my comp yesterday when my joystick arrived. My Good friend andrew came over and we went nuts.
The Bottom line is that if you have the money, pick it up (my mom actually bought mine as an early christmas present, but I could have bought it on my own)

It's not cumbersome at all. I've played the SNES games and the controls are fine to me. I think you have mongoloid hands.

Yeah, uh, anyone that can use an xbox controller doesn't have woman hands. I really don't see the problem, it's a regular digital pad with smoothed corners. Compare that to the dreamcast, which was carved out of solid pumicite and would rip your knuckles to bits.
Unless you aren't using a Type S or Duke, in the EVENT OF WHICH you are a cheap gay little boy.

yeah yeah fat joke all you want to use the D-Pad on the Classic "Duke" Controller you pretty much need small hands, now I'm not syaing that its impossible, just the placement of the D-Pad is what makes it annoying to use, the S and the 260 controller ficed this problem.
