I wasnt sure if this was the proper place for this but...
Does anyone here besides me play this. I think its a pretty good game, mostly because of the strategy involved. It forces you to think while playing because if you have a good deck, it means nothing if you dont know how to use it.

Some gross nerds created a Magic: The Gathering club at my highschool. They also petitioned for an anime club that got declined.

My school is starting a petition for an anime club.
I signed it for the irony factor.

Man I like being ironic whenever I can but when it comes to anime it's totally not worth it. >:
If the club is created post the picture from the yearbook when you get it, I wanna see if it's everything that I expect.

Trust me, it will be.
The guy who's spearheading the effort is a pretty cool guy, though.
The rest are ewwwww.

The anime/magic the gathering club at my school was a cover for watching bum fight videos.
I don't know much about the game.

The wouldnt let people bring cards to our school last year. We can now though. We also had an anime club and it was really retarted. All they did was whine about narootoe or whatever the hell his name is.

Meh, most of what my Junior High Club would do was fawn over fucking Dragonball and play Budokai and have tourneys. At least thrown in some Tekken, people!

I remember my deck used to be worth hundreds of dollars, I don't want to even know how poor of an investment it turned out to be in the long run. I still have them somewhere; an UL Forcefield, an Alpha Guantlet of Might, and Italian Legends Mirror Universe, a couple UL Two Headed Giants, an UL Berserk, and who knows what else. I remember that using the Gauntlet of Might with my four Taigas was awesome in terms of shit tons of effecient mana. I'd gladly start playing again if that didn't entail learning all the new symbols and rules. Ugh. I guess that's a lie anyways.

my school has an anime club, its composed entirely of stupid indians with hald of their lower lips and fat dykes who think your sexist if you call a woman stupid because she crashed 8 cars in a year.
I regularly throw the breaker from the boiler room and cut off power to their room so they go and bitch to the pricnipal that they can't watch their anime.

A bunch of poindexters used to sit a few tables away from my friends and I at lunch during my senior year. They would push aside the idea of eating food to instead use the 45 min lunch to play spirited games of Magic. One day my friend brought in a few hundred of his lil brother's pokemon cards and we barged into their game and began throwing Pikachus and other cards down like winning poker hands. The nerds sat speechless and stared at us for about 2 mins before we realized that it was us, not the nerds, that were LOSERS. It was funny when we thought the idea, I guess. :(

uh i play magic and i havn't lost any of my "investment" :p i have 4x white border sinkhole, scrubland ect and they havn't gone down since i've bought them. the thing that sucks about mtg is the t2 investment is BS and that's what alot of people complain about. when shit rotates it'll go from $20 to like $8 (cough umezawa's jitte)
the post in this thread make me laugh, because none of you guys making fun of the players have ever actually been to a magic tournament. the good players (as in, the kids who win usually and know what they're doing. the kids who top #8 at like champs/states) usually are your average college kid. most of them even have girlfriends omg :o
the slovenly nerd type usually are shitty players who like, make decks based around vampires or somthing? they arn't very good. =\

oh and seth, 4 taigas & a beserk will net you roughly $100 bucks! good job. a good way to actually get playing again without really getting commited is to go play limited formats at your local shop. you can pay $12 for a draft or like $20 for a sealed deck & test your deck making skills and get the new cards at the same time.
it's what i do, because i can't bring myself to actually buy the singles for the newer formats. but draft/sealed are my favorite formats anyways, they really test your stuff :0 and you can go play with nothing and leave with somthing ;p generally limited is the most strategic, because everyone is at a even playing field. bringing 40 janky cards into 1 functional unit & beating even jankier 40 card decks is alot of fun :D
limited is reaaaalllly competetive around where i live :/ but atleast people know that sitting to my left is a bad thing :D

I like Magic but Ihaven't actively played in quite some time, and when I did it was with a lot of tribal decks (My favorite being a deck of WALLS.)...but yeah, sometimes I go to pre-releases to talk to the guest artists, but not to play. Not only are the events ridiculously slow and the food overpriced, but there's enough dork B.O. for a class 5 Biohazard! :)
