having a birthday so close to halloween, every year growing up was a costume party with spooky decorations and more candy than any kid should have.

The thing I remember most was my mom smiling maniacally as she handed children, loaded with sugar, back to their parents for the remainder of the day. My mom is evil.

My birthday is 5 days after halloween. November 5. A few years ago we had a party at my house for my birthday. We had a pinata. She gave away my candy :( None of it was fun size either. Now I am sad. Great article though!
