it looks cool. Chainsaw gun is awesome. The new commercial for it has that really haunting music with it.
I got some dogtags with the skull logo on it.

the dozen multiplayer videos they had on gametrailers looked looked cool, glad to see there will be something to do once the single player is out of the way (plus: full on co-op is the main reason im getting this)

I'm not sure I understand what the big fuss is about. Seems like microsoft is saying "Hey guys, this is cool, really cool, we promise. We're gonna keep talkin about it until you feel the same way"
Everywhere I go, there's posters, giveaways, and hype as far as the eye can see. Kinda like Justin Timberlake's comeback: No one with taste liked the old version (original xbox was great though), but they figure if they talk about him enough us regular guys will decide he's cool again. *shrug*
I watched a few trailers, the graphics are really pretty with smart AI and it looks fun, but it looks like it'd get really tedious after about an hour.

i felt the same for a while, when the only thing you knew about the game was 'that it was going to be awesome' (mainly from microsoft)
the E3 2006 trailer wasnt too amazing either, but in more recent weeks, when fully gameplay videos and preview opinions came out (including my manager playing it at some GameStation managers conference thing) i started to look forward to it
hope it can live up to some of the hype its been given, guess we will find out in a week or so

If anyone knows shooters, it's Cliff Blezinski. I'll trust him that this will kick ass.

I'm diggin the games artstyle, I love the whole Industrial Revolution esq setting but wiht everythign all blown to shit but still relatively intact. Plus the monster designs are downright horrifying (in the most awesome way possible)

From what I can gather the Chainsaw is an almost useless weapon since the default settings in multi give you a shotgun so it makes chainsaw rushes a liability
4 disks of pure nerd jerk material. Granted I'll probly end up with that

But chainsaws are cool.

Nov 6th, 2006, 07:26 AM
from some of the videos the chainsaw looks like it has a limited 'lock on' effect, maybe making it a bit easier to work with at close range compared to a shotgun.
headstomping looks awesome too, as do the watermelon sized gibs

Chainsaws and the "Curb stomp" as they call it are pretty much bonous kills, much in the vein of assasinations in Halo 2. You get extra points but they arent the best way to dispatch someone. Except in one of the multiplayer gametypes where the only way to kill someone is via chainsaw, stomp or closerange headshot.

So are they releasing this for PC or what?
I wouldn't be suprised if Microsoft wanted to keep this Xbox only but I can't think of a game which Epic hasn't released on PC.

Unreal Championship, Unreal Championship 2: the Liandri Conflict.
Fathom Zero

The only real one was Liandri Conflict, as Championship was pretty much a port of the original. Liandri was ultra fast with lock-on melee action. I love just flying across the screen, smashing into another player, and watching parts fly everywhere.

Ah right. I thought those where pretty much copies of UT and UT2K3 respectivly. Then again I never played them so what do I know.

I played this yesterday. Great, solid game. I'm amazing how well it controls. Practically everything consists of using the A button. My only gripe is when you're sprinting (holding the A button down), if you run into a wall, it automatically thinks you want to hug the wall. It's a small problem. The game runs oh-so smoothley and the graphics are the best I've seen. The enemies are smart and the weapons are badass. The game gets a 10 in my book. Mostly because of the fact you can lodge a grenade in a guy's chest and watch him run around in agony for a few seconds before he turns into ground beef. That and the guitar riff you get to hear after every chainsaw kill.

Its a great solid game, the pacing of the action is great, as are the levels. But it suffers from the same issues of all great games as of late, its too god damned short. Me and my pal started at 10:00AM and we had it finished by 3:32PM.
Berserker Sequences were amazing! As is the online play.
The only real gripe I have that detracts from the game is the fact that you don't actually fight or have any direct contact to one of the most awesome monsters in the game.

This game's just down right solid. Possibly the most solid game I've played in years. It makes me think less of other games, actually.

Sweet game. I played this game a weekend ago, and my friend was manning the searchlight to keep the locusts from getting me in the darkness. At one point, he must have forgotten about the locusts and he said he would move the light foward to scout ahead. As soon as he did, the locusts swarmed around me. lol

i got this game last week and i'm on my 3rd or 4th play through.
Online is great once you get a good game going but until then it is a little frustrating, especially trying to get into a room.
I don't know why every game just doesn't copy Halo 2's matchmaking system. I'm sure i'll get flamed but I think it's the best system for multiplayer in any game.
