Why does pee smell so strong when you go to a club or bar washroom? I know volume and how many times they clean the washroom, but the smell is different...is it beer or alchohol that produces that strange pungent odor?

I'd be willing to bet there are several reasons; firstly that in bars people often loose their ability to aim at the urinal. Either through intoxication or just because they couldn't care less if it goes in or not.
Secondly urinals smell stronger than a regular toilet because they're not full of water or anything. The pee can just sit around on the surface stinking up the place.

The final and most likely reason however, is that you are frequenting less than classy bars. :x

Thats piss steam (dude this is gross) from your piss hitting cool/cold porcelain and whafting up into your face. i usualy turn my head and hold my breath during that phase of it. its not like at home where the plumbing comes up from the basement thru a wood structure and theres more water (warmer) in the toilet for it to dilute in. urinals are bolted to concrete and connected to plumbing fed up thru concrete that comes straight out of the (cool) ground. of course this should be taken in a "i would imagine" form since i wouldnt want to cuase a flame war in a thread such as this since there may be other opinions/factors involved.

HOMEMADE VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP

1 lb. ground beef
1 c. celery
1 c. onions
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 c. chopped tomatoes
2 c. cubed potatoes
2 c. chopped cabbage
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 c. beef broth
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/4 tsp. thyme leaves

Brown ground beef; drain; set aside. In kettle cook celery, onions and chopped tomatoes until vegetables are tender. Add mixed vegetables, potatoes, cabbage, 2 cups beef broth, salt, pepper, 1 bay leaf, 1/4 teaspoon marjoram leaves and 1/4 teaspoon thyme. Add ground beef. Simmer 1 hour.

It is just a matter of quantity. Bar bathrooms get used many times and hour while regular bathrooms are not used nearly as much.
