I'm going to see it this weekend, come hell or high water.

Oh wait, I'm in the middle of Coose Bay, Oregon, now. There's only one theatre in an uninhabited mall area. No distribution. Fuck.

There is a terrible radio promo for ESPN 1000 that goes "Hey, if our radio show is not good, you..We might get executed"

I think he almost went into a "you might be a redneck" joke.

This sucks ass, It was supposed to premeir today but the theater was afraid its content would offend residents of my city so its either delayed or not being released at all in my city >:

You live in Canada, why would it offend you?

Zomboid
Nov 4th, 2006, 07:15 AM
I don't know, but there was a big promo where I live and suddenly on opening day we've got more open season or some shit.

ArrowX
Nov 4th, 2006, 11:45 AM
You live in Canada, why would it offend you? Because all these pansys who own the theater think its an "anti-immigarion" movie and there all from some dirt shit country.

As far as the interviews go, the reactions are probably real:

Most of Borat's victims were ensnared in a similar way. They would be contacted by a woman calling herself Chelsea Barnard from a fictional film company, One America Productions.

They would be told about the foreign correspondent making a film about life in the US, with the pitch tailored to each person's specialist subject.

Then on the day of the interview, they would be presented with a release form at the last minute, be paid in cash and, finally, Borat would amble in, beginning with some serious subjects before starting his provocative routine.

Washington DC public speaking coach Pat Haggerty also appears - and is seen trying to teach humour to Borat, who talks about having sex with his mother-in-law and keeping his "retard" brother in a cage.

You have to just sit back and enjoy this

I loved it.

I'd love to see a DVD release with some of the deleted scenes and shorter segments from the movie extended out as if they were just regular segments from the TV show.

I thought it was alright. I got kinda sick of every joke being a highway to vaginas but, you know

Either the humor coach or the rodeo was my favorite part.

Just saw it tonight. It was good but I preferred the skits from the Ali G show better. On the other hand, it might be that all the previews and hype surrounding this movie ruined it for me. It just seemed like a string of set-ups leading to the same old clips that have been on TV for the past few weeks/months. It was almost like all the best punch lines were used for the trailer, so when I actually watched it, it felt like I was listening to a joke I had already heard.

My friends and I have never seen the show, so this was all brand new for us :(

This is why I go out of my way to avoid seeing comedy trailers.

Two of the frat boys from the RV scene are suing Sacha Baron Cohen for defamation or something because they said a bunch of racist, sexist shit while drunk on camera. :lol :lol :lol

Grislygus
Nov 13th, 2006, 05:47 PM
A bunch of losers are suing him. I personally feel sorry for the shit-poor Romanians who were told it was a documentary, but the rest of them (especially Mahir Cagri) can go fuck themselves.

I heard that Sasha Baron Cohen hosted Saturday Night Live a few days back and went out into the streets in-character. One person didn't "get the joke" and punched him in the mouth.

Anyone know anything more about this?

Grislygus
Nov 13th, 2006, 07:25 PM
I heard something around those lines on one of the various news networks this morning. Can't find any info on the specific event, though.

It was fucking brilliant. Basically, if you love Borat from the Ali G show appearances, you're going to love this.

You don't even need to see him from Da Ali G show to love this movie. I barely watched Da Ali G show and thought this was one of those movies that's going to change the movie industry. It was oh-so funny. It hurt so good.
