Alrighty then, whenever I've needed help identifying a certain game, it's always been I-Mockery that's been most helpful (mostly through Willie's input alone) that enabled me to find what I was looking for.

However, what I present today might stump even him, though hopefully not because I reaaaaaaaaaaaally want to play this game if I ever find out what the fuck it is.

Anyhoo... this is what I recall about it.

1) It's a PC/Computer ish game from the late 80's/early 90's
2) It's a sim-type game. Though mostly text based, you control a world and the population in it. No, it's not Populous... it's more like static, sorta like Shadowgate. It's pretty creepy and descriptive if you let your world go to waste though, as it describes people dying of say, lead poisoning or cancer of some horrible sort.
3)The only thing I remember about the credits is that the guy who wrote it's first name is Chris.
4) I forget the title, but I believe the title screen is a very miscolored planet Earth.
5)Came out at roughly the same time as the game Slaughter Sport/Mondo's Fight Palace (as I remember seeing this game reviewed in a videogame magazine with Mondo's in the same issue)

It's kinda vague, I admit, but dammit, it was interesting then, and even more fascinating now.

Both games created by CHRIS Crawford, both simulations.

One of those should be it.

while we are...in this thread I got one

mega drive/genesis game, platform game set in carnival, but its all demonic and hellish, you can select your starting level, but it doesn't matter as you will be thrown into flames while enemies beat the shit out of you in seconds

main character may be native American

Oh, I need identifying too.

It's an arcade icehockey game where you can shoot your puck so hard that it can set the goalkeeper in flames and break the goal net.

Hmm I think that's the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery pinball machine.

Was it Mutant League Hockey, perchance? I'm guessing...

And thanks Jeff, that was it (Balance of the Planet). How'd you find it so easily?

I was going to guess Hit the Ice, but if you say it's Mutant League Hockey, I guess i'm wrong.

Um, actually, it IS Hit the ice. I just noticed that mutant league hockey was for genesis only, and the ice hockey game I was talking about was for arcade. So yeah, hit the ice seems to be the game.
Thanks.

I'm looking for a game where a dog has barking powers and eats bones. At one point he beats up a chick.

It sounds like something Rude Dog would do, but I would know if I played his game. He sucks.

over 20 years ago I played a game video game at an arcade that I think was called Cherry bomber that I've never seen again that was great. I remember Galaga and some game with a Knight flying an Ostrich were around at that time.

That would be Joust. No idea about the game you're actually looking for, though.

The answer was GEX.

Esuohlim
Dec 12th, 2006, 02:02 PM
Gex was a game about a gecko who spits out quips like he's Dave Coulier and it's not about a dog at all!

I don't think we are talking about the same game, dude.

It had a pyramid level.

really looks close...that looks like a version of dig dug...the cherry's look the same but you would push cherrys that would drop onto creatures (I can't remember what the creatures looked like). And like Joust you jumped from platforms.

I found it...Bomb Jack

To this day I don't know what dana gould looks like, I imagine he looks like Dana Carvey with an Elliot Gould moustache.

Thank you. The other clues were telling too much anyways.

NEXT GAME:

This innovative game featured a poorly drawn cross-hair, and when you took damage it had the possibility of impairing your vision, turning and speed, firing, and/or your radar.

I probably shouldn't be saying anything else, but it goes back a bit further, and of course, you do operate a certain vehicle. Also, I forgot to mention that there is also a weather system that effects the terrain, and your sight and maneuverability.

HEY GUYS DO YOU REMEMBER A GAME WHERE YOU FLY A SHIP IN SPACE AND YOU VISIT TONS OF DIFFERENT PLANETS THAT ALL LOOK THE PRETTY MUCH SAME AND YOU GET DIFFERENT CREW MEMBERS THAT ARE FROM DIFFERENT SPECIES? Also, I think your robot navigation guy is called A.B.E.

Girl Drink Drunk
Dec 14th, 2006, 10:31 AM
Well, since I have all of you baffled, and this isnt the thread for guessing games, I was talking about Robot Tank, an Activision game for the Atari 2600.

Anyways, does anybody know the name of this Sega CD game where you play as basketball and have to jump into a net?
