Now, keep in mind, it doesn't start 'til Monday afternoon and it lets out Friday at 2:00 pm.
"Keeping us up here eats away at families," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. "Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families -- that's what this says."

That's my new favorite quote of all time. Yeah, they fly home on Fridays for their "families". Uncle oil company, grandma drug company, Cousin fundraising dinner......

Some republican from Georgia was whining about this on Fox News yesterday afternoon. You know, these people were elected to work for the people, and I, for one, think they should work seven days per week until they've fixed all of their fuck ups. Seven day work weeks, no breaks, Taco Bell for lunch, no IM's, no email. AND NO F***ING OT!!!!!
Sorry about that little outburst.....it's funny to me that they all talk about how hard they will work if elected, but only want to work three days a week...and not even three full days. :lol

Here's the part I find hillarious... That any of these dudes are so TOTALY out of touch that they don't know how bad it will sound to whine about a five day work week.
There are some actual mitigating factors for Representatives. Travel time back to their district, work they have to or want to do there, etc. But how can someone who has the neccesary political chops to actually win an election not realize how they sound when they publicly cry about their work hours and say it's anti family when they ought to know how many hours, how many two career families, how many people have to hold down two jobs just to get by? Wanna bet the same people gripping that their new five day work wek is anti family have voted against a minimum wage hike?
I guess what I'm saying is, I'm not at all shocked that these folks are such self centered pigs. I guess I'm shocked they don't know how to hide it any better.

:lol Maybe they should, Kevin. And when they go on strike, management can bring in scab congressmen.

If congress were to unionize they would be overpaid, never get anything done and work 3 day work weeks...... oh wait......
they should at least work 6 day weeks until they get the main work done. then revert to 5 day weeks while doing normal work.
Here is how we solve their laziness. Pay them by the hour. Why give salary to someone who doesn't work enough to earn it?

Congress does actually all finance bills occur in congress.
To bad we can't vote on their salaries in a democratic fashion.
