I'm sure most of you have heard of this. BMG Music (http://www.bmgmusic.com) Is running a deal in which they send you seven free cds (plus shipping), and all you have to do is buy one cd, and you get four more free. You can even quit after you buy one cd. The catch? You have to send back the catalogs they send you each month, or they'll automatically bill you for that item. So, for a slight inconvenience every four weeks, you can get 12 cds for the price of two (once shipping is factored in). If you're good at making up names, (Hint: USE SIBLINGS) you can get quite a deal out of this, should you need more cds. so far, i've got:

Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality

Obituary - Back From The Dead

Megadeth - Rust In Peace

Sepultura - Beneath The Remains (Remastered)

Death - Symbolic

Cannibal Corpse - Vile

Cannibal Corpse - Live Cannibalism

for free. Once i've bought Ministry's "Filth Pig", i have

Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing

Overkill - Bloodletting

Six Feet Under - Graveyard Classics

Devo - Greatest Hits (yeah, you read right.)

net cost to me: $28

That is one fuck of a deal.

Why do you think anyone would think it's weird you listen to Devo?

Devo is the best band on that list.

It's not that it's devo, it's that it's a Greatest Hits cd. Kind of an Oxymoron. :/

I did that years ago. As a result I have a lot of cds now that I never listen to. but i did get em cheap. Hell I would refer my sister and get another 4 free....then I refered myself under myself and got another 4 free. then I quit.

They used to send you a cd every month and you just had to refuse it to rend it back....then they stopped and you didnt have to do anything. Wierd they make you send the catalogs back now....

I'll admit that free cds are the ones i listen to least, but they're still free.

yeah, i did that with either bmg or columbia house a long fucking time ago. they have lots of good stuff for the beginning indie kid... i remember getting some mogwai, slint, yo la tengo, pavement, raincoats, ween, belle & sebastian, and plenty more. i'm pretty sure i still listen to all of it from time to time. i did it three times, so that's a lot of good music for minimal bucks.
