I tried cubec, fried alligator flesh this weekend. It was awesome. It tastes a little like chicken but has a texture closer to lobster. I likes. I likes that it makes my ass smell like swamp gas too.

I guess meat doesn't have much variety in taste.

How was it prepared? Did they make steaks out of it, or did they just grill the sucker?

It was cut up into little chunks, dipped in batter and deep fried. It was a little chewy, but not unpleasant. I'd like to try a gator steak sometime if we could find a place around here that sold them.
Yggy, you may be right!

Hey, I've had alligator like that, and i agree, it was delicious. Better than a stinkin chicken, thats for sure.

It's def good, it's a little bit chewier than chicken obviously, but it is still grubbin.

Why are reptiles so chewy?

Gator is actually pretty good. There's a Basque place here in town that has it.

Must've been jaw or tail meat, the good cuts are alot more tender than you describe.
